Premier League experience is something he ain't got at the end of the day, which is crucial IMO.
Pellegrini had none before he won a domestic double in his first season. Mourinho had none either before going to Chelsea. The more pertinent question is will his system of a high-energy pressing game work in the PL. It certainly worked in the Bundesliga for a while but you need the players to do it and he had some good players. But once a few key ones went, it clearly affected them, in the same way the loss of key players like Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard, Carragher & Suarez has affected Liverpool.

He could do it but it's a stretch to think he's going to wave a magic wand and turn Milner into Reus.

The PL experience issue can easily be sorted by having decent support staff that do have that experience. They need a Brian Kidd character, someone who knows English football inside out but who is happy to have a backrow seat. It will be interesting to see what happens with the coaching staff and the infamous transfer committee.

P.S. We are so lucky to have Kidd.

Just been looking at how many managers Liverpool have had .
This will be Liverpool 19th appointment if you don't include Kenny Dalglish twice .
Klopp would be a great appointment for Liverpool .

I think too much is made about this "transfer committee". Should've just avoided labels.

It's not THAT unusual for scouts or directors to be involved in recruitement. Southampton do it, and I suspect you lot do it too. The problem is/was 1. Alleged pure moneyball and 2. Way, way, too many details and talk about it. This second part is something I wish would stop. From Rodgers to various leaks, way too much about our club is just out there.

And Rodgers players were not exactly mouthwatering--Lallana, Allen, Lovren, Borini, he didn't want Sturridge. Committee guys- Moreno, Markovic, and maybe Firmino (TBD) possibly have/had more upside than that group for example.

I like how you lot do it. Just carry on and get on with it. If anything if not for the bitter media reminding everyone all the time (or for your shirt sponsors) we'd even forget who your owners were.

Quite jealous.
As am i.......i think his appetite and personality is fantastic,he can obviously spot a player and manage at the highest level and given he always looks like a man on the verge of a breakdown........he'd have been a perfect candidate for our dugout.

Liverpool have done as well as they could have hoped with this appointment.

Hmm...

I have a feeling for better or worse Klopp would (he's not hte manger yet, right?) annoy the fuck out of rival fans with his grinning and "I'm a happy loon" personality*. At least he won't also annoy a huge section of our fans like Rodgers did although I was ok with him, other than I felt he talked way too much.

*Pellegrini = Normal, regular, human beinig. Wenger = Depressed loon. Mourinho = Paranoid and Psychotic loon. Van Gaal = an actual loon.
