I make up for it by having fingers like a rock climber.
What so you could climb out easier if you fell in?

That's not a good thing.

I once went to a pre season friendly against Exeter at St James Park with a mate from London in 1996 (where we both lived) when Alan Ball was the manager. We'd driven down from the smoke and spent a few days In Devon. Played Plymouth as well. When I told the City fan I was stood next to where I'd driven from he said in all seriousness "you haven't had far to come then?" !!Also in Devon and witnessed the same as you.
I thought the Chris Martin "soccer" jibe was a bit tongue in cheek, but I replayed it and remembered he's actually a bit of an arse.
Id' Treat Gwyneth far better...

Edit: just seen your later post. You were at the game too! It wasn't you I was stood next to was it??!!
I remember the term 'grockle' with some fondness from my time working down in Dorset, although it was used with a little irony there it should be said.Folk down her can be a little.....erm...odd.
Also reminds me of being in a small Midwest town in America.
Local: So how long y'all been here.
My mum: six months now.
Local: Gee, aint y'all learned to speak English real quick!

Most beautiful part of the world when the sun shows its face. The accent is so strong in these parts that I have trouble differentiating whether someone is asking for a cup of tea or a copper tube.

The Apollo's very nice. And the locals hide theirs. Then again, I work in Ardwick so I can't complain.
