You would be amazed at the amount of used and waste clothing that is sent over to African and Asian countries. Literally by the shipload. That second hand clothing is then sorted and sold at local markets all across the respective countries of both continents. In amongst that clothing there are bound to be innumerable football shirts that have been discarded. People that buy from these markets are those that cannot afford to buy new clothing in normal shops. They are most likely to be wearing these shirts because it happened to be a good shirt that they happened to find in a market stall rather than any indication of affiliation to any football club. That doesn't mean to say that there aren't people in those countries that support Prem clubs and wear their merchandise accordingly, but for the vast majority, a shirt, any shirt will do.Those talking about revenues from overseas 'supporters' need to think about one thing, especially as regards the fakes capitals of the worlds, Asia and Africa, how many of those fans that live on £2 to £10 a day do you think buy genuine merchandise?
I'll say it would be around 2% of them. The clubs don't make much money from them at all, trust me.
I know plenty of City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and manyoo fans in Thailand, the only genuine shirts I saw are ones that have been brought to them by friends etc.
