Perhaps. I'm not sure Aguero would have made such a difference without supply from the midfield. He never drops that deep to make a play for himself. I'm not sure we seriously tested their keeper once?Thought Sane saw plenty of the ball did jack shit with it, off night at the wrong time it happens,reminded me of the semi against Madrid we seemed to freeze and our big players didn't turn up Aguero was the big miss for me.
My conclusion is that the players just got rattled as soon as Liverpool scored. All season long we've played one touch passing football in all circumstances, and never let difficult situations get to us. It looked like the whole team, including players like Silva and KDB wobbled. We can normally play around anyone in tight situations and under pressure. LFC didn't do anything that any team hasn't tried before, but in the pressure-cooker we couldn't do it and gave possession away.Told Pool supporter mate we didnt have Silva and Kompany in the 4-3 loss before the game as he was bringing that game up time and time again...

No it wasnt they showed hardly any leadership.
Actually without them we at least did a nice comeback nearly from 4-1 down. Today we never looked like scoring or creating anything. Horrible result for a first game of a CL tie.
Only Juventus have worse result in this round as they lost 3-0 at home.
Not easy to be fair conceding a goal in a huge game, and playing on as if nothing had happened. Can affect even the best teams as Barca and Bayern have been heavily beaten in similar circumstances.

He's a damn sight stronger than Jesus I'm afraid when we did manage to get the ball into the Liverpool penalty area there was no threat at all, I'm hoping he makes next Tuesday.Perhaps. Not sure he alone would have made any difference. Players like Silva and KDB etc were under par. De Bruyne doesn't need much time on the ball though, he can play in one touch and can rip an entire defense apart like that... if there are options in front of him to play the ball to. Take away one of those options, and the opponent needs to watch one less player, and frees up an extra player to put on the other players they need to watch.I've though about the fact that KDB and Silva weren't on their game tonight - and why we lost the ball too many times due to expecting to have more time on the ball. My conclusion is still exactly the same. But I thank you for your input. The game didn't change just because Sterling came on, it changed mostly because the Dippers shot their bolt in the first half, as per previous, and also because of a change of personnel.

Sane flagged offside when on and Jesus scored the rebound and a clear penalty on Sterling not given.

His goal tally suggests that's not the case, he can hold the ball and not easy to knock off the ball fairly, personally I thought he would have been ideal for tonight. Sadly I couldn't point to a player on our team who wasn't below par except maybe SterlingNot sure he alone would have made any difference. Players like Silva and KDB etc were under par.
