Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

We never got the ball into a scoring position tonight. Not one ball made it even close enough for a player to get a shot on target. First time in 18 months. How can you suggest a different striker when nobody had any service whatsoever? Have a rerun through the game and tell me where the front man was at fault? Sergio doesn't pick a ball up from midfield and drive at the opposition - never has. He needs a supply line, as any decent striker does.
Sergio's never picked a ball up in midfield and driven at the opposition really?

I'll take your word for it mate not much to show for 90 minutes to be honest, poor performance so I wouldn't say we were robbed no good enough on the night, hell of a task to turn it around next week where there's life there's hope.

I agree and Salah's offside was marginal, Sane was more onside than he was and it was disallowed. We were shit but one or two of those decisions go our way as they should have done and we would be very much in the tie as shit as we was.

But you've just said that we never got close enough to their goal all night - therefore what use would Aguero have been? Do you really think Aguero is gonna pick the ball up from midfield on his own, or just perhaps should our normally reliable midfielders be coming in for a bit of stick tonight? I know who my money's on.
Our midfield players certainly had an off night I'll give you that.it does sometimes helps a bit if you can push a ball to a forward who doesn't get easily brushed of the ball though.

i dont doubt we might be able to score 3 maybe 4 at a push, but i cant see us keeping them out at the other end
We need a bit of luck like they got tonight with our disallowed goal that should have stood for me.

We can do it. Early goal and roof comes off the Etihad.

Again that was far end so couldn't tell, you never know if we get one in the first ten minutes next week its game on. I'm not hopeful as we really needed that away goal stranger things have happened.

The away goal was crucial. As I have said we could batter them comprehensively next week and win 4-1 and be out.

So in the last 180 mins at Anfield we've conceded 7. Not playing a right winger was suicide. Our only hope is Salah and Henderson missing in 2nd leg affecting them.
We might take a risk and go Mendy Sergio Jesus with no Sane.
Please no. We are in this mess cause we changed it up a bit too much.

Lets go with our usual formation of Aguero up top, Sane and Sterling on the wings with Kdb and Silva in the middle.
ALSO Delph pocketed Salah in the 5-0 so Delph starts for me.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but delph didn’t play that game. Mendy did.

Poor tonight, think Pep got it wrong. Not the end of the world. We can turn it around on Tuesday. Also we will be on a big high, we are going to be champions on Saturday :-)
