Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

A few things:

  1. Playing Laporte at left-back was madness. Although he did reasonably well he offered little support to Silva and Sane.Which, has been one of our strengths this season. We solved a problem for Liverpool picking him
  2. Gundogen - well, without wanting to make him a scapegoat or repeating what has been posted, I will say my piece - he doesn't like it up him. He doesn't have the strength stamina or mobility to run back. Hides from our own players in possession and generally offers very little. He's good at home to the likes of Bournemouth but not away from home at the top level
  3. How the fuck do we concede a break away goal 10 minutes into a 2 legged tie? you see those type of goals get conceded at the death, not at the start
  4. I felt for Sane. Although his decision making and delivery of decisions was poor at times, he didn't have a break. We constantly gave him the ball. We needed someone on the right to take the burden off him
  5. Finally. We could still be playing now and not score. Toothless
I think we will win the 2ng leg but it won't be enough

First goal, offside, then Walker and Eddie contrived to set up Salah, his shot going straight into Vinny's chest until Eddie deflected it. Second, a challenge and a false "pass" to to Chamberlain and he scores outside the box again ala Coutinio against us, probably his only 2 goals in that fashion all season. Then the third, Salah hits a cross, rebounds and 4 out of 5 City players nearest the ball but it comes back to Salah who crosses for a midget to head in. We didn't play well that first half but ffs, the bad luck at that shit hole just continues, only seen the offside once for our disallowed goal and Raz penalty claim. Watched in my local and unknown red dickheads supporting the Dippers, couldn't contain my ire and told them they were fucking wankers openly supporting those cnuts, they fucked off before the final whistle, twats .

Woke up obviously gutted about last night's defeat, especially the manner of it. However, it's important to put a bit of perspective on it as well.

- This will be the greatest season in our entire history.

- During Ferguson's time at Utd, they only won more than a couple of domestic trophies on two occasions (99/08). Did anyone at the time, or now, consider the other title winning season's as disappointing?

- The Arsenal invincible side only won the league. They are remembered as a great team.

- The Chelsea Mourinho side with the greatest ever top flight record, also lost to Liverpool in the CL. Everyone remembers a great season.

- This is only Pep's second season, with the chance of 3 or so more. We'll get better and better in Europe like we will/have the league.

- We can win the league against Utd (fantasy moment) and finish with the greatest top flight league record of any side.

- A chance of a miracle in the second leg.

We are the ideal target for the Klopp press.
All our players just stand in there aloted pitch position boxes and watch as the press overwhelms the defence behind them. Fern was overrun at Anfield - again - and couldn't get the ball forward.
Once the defence was breached, the bus incident got to the team and made the situation worse.
It's easy to solve by putting two DMs in front of the defence till the intensity of the press diminishes but Pep is just a bit pig headed about his single pivot.
I love the guy but Pep got his tactics as badly wrong as he did when Bayern got thumped in the first half in Spain and by playing open football last season in Monaco. You have to be pragmatic on occasion Pep.

I 100 percent think we can do it, the pressure is off now, we can give liverpool 100 percent now from the get go at the etihad.

I don't get gleefully announcing "we're out".

Liverpool are a team that live exclusively off their own hubris. For every "magical anfield night" (tm) there's just some egotist slipping over and handing another team the game.

It makes them great sometimes, but it makes them absolutely paper thin at others.

I don't find it hard to imagine that Lovren, Alexander Arnold and Karius are part of a huge bottle job. That Aguero returns, KDB, Silva, Sane, Sterling, play with a bigger point to prove than any time this season. Salah could be out, Henderson (who marshalls that team very well) already is.

I can't believe anyone has given up. Score early, pin them in their own half, and let their own mental fragility do them. Liverpool are dead in every game by 60 minutes.

A lot was made of the 4-3 for the anfield template.

We won 5-0 at home.

The fact that we haven't wrapped up the PL yet might have something to do with it, I think we can still do it but we just need to be done with the game against the rags. We are already 3 goals down, fuck it and throw caution to the wind. 2 attackers up front
