Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Sorry to hear that.

Your shockingly bad record against us, as you put it, does go back a long way but don't forget that for a quite a bit of that time, we had better teams than you so it was to be expected.

You now have one of the best teams in the world. The idea that we can just "raise our game" to beat you doesn't follow. If that were the case, we would be beating United every season as that game is treated like a cup final, for historical reasons. And the last time we met in an actual cup final, you won.
I believe Klopp has Pep's number, but I may be proved wrong next week. However, over the course of the season we've been way, way better. The problem I have with the CL (always have had, it has nothing to do with last night's result) is that you can be the fourth best team in England but the champions of europe. It's shite, but it's about money. However, to be the champions of England you have to be the best team, which we are, and by quite some margin.

I think the summer transfer window will be very interesting for you, and if the owners decide to back Klopp to the hilt, then next season may be interesting.

scouser telling me dippers will have thousands in the city end.i very much doubt it but if there are how are they getting them.

You've hit the nail on the head with the Champions League. As fantastic as it was when we won it in 2005 (and it was fantastic - probably the highlight of my lifetime supporting Liverpool because it was just so unexpected), it wasn't the same as winning the old European Cup. Each time we won it in '77, '78, '81 and '84, we were champion of champions - true champions of Europe; in 2005 we were the winners of a very elite cup competition. The only domestic champions we faced in the knockout stages was Milan in the final (Leverkeusen and Juve had each finished 3rd in 03-04 and Chelsea had finished 2nd). Still great, of course, but not the same.

Klopp does seem to have more success against Pep than most but, tactics aside, I think it was just about the way the players turned out last night. It was a very good night for our boys and a very bad night for yours. It happens sometimes. Rerun the same game with the same players and the same tactics some and it could go differently. The offside decision goes against Salah and you get the first goal and it goes differently.

With regards to you being way better than us, that's inarguable. It's also the beauty of football - the league table doesn't lie.

The transfer window will be interesting: he doesn't buy many players but he seems to target them well to fit in with his system. He's a good fit for Fenway in that respect. A serious challenge, at least going into Feb, would be a sensible goal, I think.

The dippers in work are fucking petrified about the 2nd leg.

About 80% of them reckon we'll still get through.

The mard fuckers.
I think had we scored they would be right to be worried, in fact I'd probably have preferred 4-1 than 3-0, but we need to remember Monaco, and how we managed to throw that away, Liverpool aren't averse to doing that. I'll go in hope but not in expectation, because I think they'll score.

It’ll have to be 5-1 then!

Liverpool play that flat out game once or twice a month - they cannot do it every game. It lasts an hour or so then they hit the wall, so it's important to score in that first hour as they're running on empty for the last thirty. I doubt they'll have the energy to get anywhere near that level on Tuesday. They'll be fighting their natural instinct and constantly in two minds. Make no mistake, we'll make chances next week - will come down to how ruthless we are early on. I don't do result predictions but we'll have fifteen/twenty shots. Need to prey on their weak spot - Karius.
He isn't a weak spot if we never have a fucking shot on target. - Apart from the incorrectly disallowed goal obv.

what bugs me and has for a while when getting over run why dont we stop the game by feigning injury get trainer on then start again all teams do it were too nice i feel
