Liverpool V City post match discussion.

Amazing how people can have such differentiating opinions watching the same game. IMO 1-1 at Anfield is not a bad result. Especially when it is home opener with a new manager. 1st half Liverpool were mostly dominated with the exception of few minutes after their goal. 2nd half was much more open, and honestly either side could have won it.

Kolorov - Shaky defence and not much service in attack. If Mancini is going to play wingback system, the WB should be offering more attacking options.

Milner - Honestly he is waste on the wing. Offers very little attacking, and his hard work is wasted unless at this level. He would be good option if he is on team playing against the likes of Madrid/Barca, but at this level where the opposing FB rarely get beyond their own half, I don't his see his role.

Defense - Very shaky. Unlike most here IMO Kolo is not the biggest culprit. He probably was the best defender on the field for City today as he was the only one closing down. They are not defending as unit. Kompany has looked very shaky this season. He nearly scored own goal that led to Liverpool's 1st goal. Kolorov/Zab didn't pick up Auger either for the goal. Hart also could have done better on the 2nd goal.

1-1?

LOL

You didn't shut up so I can no longer agree with you :-)

I don't believe we have any, to quote you, players "that are shite". I do believe that some players don't play as well as we would like in a particular match (or two). That doesn't make them "shite".

On that note I am going to disengage from addressing your posts on this patricular topic and spend the time discussing with more postive posters. I'll no doubt bump into you on the transfer forum at some point this week.

Over and out.

The four players named are shite though.

I don't think so mate

City fans great bunch of lads.just got home from the game with my brother who suffers from a disabilty.Couple of City fans helped us after we got a little bit stranded ended up amongst the city fans outside the ground.

Good to hear that. Dont make the same mistake in a couple of weeks when you play the rags, God knows what would happen!

Liverpool fans and City fans have one thing in common, the mutual hatred of United.

mancini picked the wrong players and the wrong system. suicide at a place like anfield. it was bad enough to underestimate southampton but to do it to liverpool away is sheer madness.
the prem amd the CL are not the places to experiment or to rotate.
if by any chance you fancy risking changing your title winning formation get it right with the right players if you want to stand a chance of retaining your trophy.

that said they were very lucky today, the ref gifted them their second goal, which always happens when we go there.

learn from this city and quickly.

Though Rodwell has just played 2 games with us, but he is impressive.i think he will be a perfect replacement for De jong if he leaves.

Not sure about the "system".
Obviously it is a work in progress and
it did seem ok in pre-season and charity shield.
Liverpool were always going to be up for this,
a bit like a cup final to them. We did seem to have a gaping big hole in
the middle of the field which pool controlled, now, if I can see that , I'm sure
RM and staff can. I'm sure we will be better next week.
