Liverpool v City - post match thread

i'm not surprised, same old crap performance in the league. slow, predictable. We have no form and teams around us have. We will drop down the league. No Chumps League for us next season. The cup at least gives us Europa League next season, only way we will get it with the continuous shambles.

Liverpool have been crap this season and we struggled in 3 games this season against them. That should be sending out danger warnings to the club hierarchy if nothing else is.

Indeed mate - that's 7-1 on aggregate , or 8-2 if you include the Final on Sunday , to them this season - what a joke !!

You can still talk about us being in the title race, but based on our long run of performances we're more likely to finish 7th than 1st. Oh well, the derby has just become a huge game...and the rags will be well up for it sensing a chance that they should never have had. I have no idea if our boys will be.

We don't seem to have the ability to control games anymore, is it because of yaya s decline?. We used to dominate possession and pass teams off the park (even if it was sideways), and pick them off. Sunday's game reminded me of a Macini side, in control and confident particularly at the back and yaya played well. Tonight the team lacked motivation which is very puzzling considering Sunday's performance?? Anyway it was great to see Wenger storm off after being interviewed, it's mad season you just never know?? Could be worse look at Chelsea.

Wouldn't surprise me if Chelsea went further in the Chumps League than us , finish ahead of us in the table and win the FA Cup.

What is more amazing is that time and again we see a manager like Guus come in and steady the ship with the same bunch of players that were struggling before with a manager rated more highly supposedly than he is.

Our performance today was one we have grown accustomed to under MP for quite some time now , no organisation , poorly set up to defend , unable to cope with a bunch of average players that press and harrass and out work and out run us.

We have regressed significantly under MP in terms of the qualities you need now to dominate games of football and set yourself up to minimise the chance of losing and maximise the chance of winning hence we have not won almost half of the games played so far this season.

Despite our squad which will need the biggest overhaul in our history over the summer and I expect that to be the case as we reduce our average age by some margin and begin the real project of having the best of the academy in the first eleven and the best youngsters in world football to complement the few class experienced performers we need to do a PSG or a Bayern in domestic football , MP has had a terrible two seasons by any objective analysis.

He should have gone at the end of last season and as I said its going to end very badly for him at this club ( first time we will miss out on Chumps League and quite likely Europa in 5 seasons ).

Wouldn't be at all surprised if these bottlers miss out on a CL place. Talk about rubbish! Seen some sh*te in my time, but that took some beating. Useless cnuts from 1 - 11. Should be ashamed. Won't be though. Wankers.

We are 0-3-8 against sides currently in the top 8 , you would reckon we would be good for at least one win in a season but who knows.

We still have to play Arsenal , Chelsea and Southampton and Stoke , who would bet on us winning any of those games.

Villa will be licking their chops having to play a side playing the worst football both at home and away for over 8 years now.

Think Bony got it spot on. Nothing to do with tiredness just started badly and never found our game. Trouble is we have 'lost our game' on too many occasions in the last two seasons.

Just got back from my 3rd visit to Liverpool this season .
Can't say I'm that disappointed .
I would have been more disappointed on Sunday .
If we had lost the Milk Cup .
We looked knackered tonight .
And that's the major reason we lost.
All this traveling caught up with us .

This result is total confirmation of one, single fact. Pellers is a belligerent, arrogant, petulant fool. He might be the nicest man in the world, but when it comes to a match, he is utterly clueless. Last season, teams were starting to work us out. This season, everyone has worked us out. Every other manager has us figured out and yet every time, Pellers keeps on insisting that the team plays to a script which is outdated, broken, worn out and in desperate need of a spell checker.
Of course, the players need to look at themselves, but these are not shit players all of a sudden. They are all internationals, all highly regards and clearly have the ability. But we have a manager who has nothing new to say, no vision and no plan B. In the 2.5 seasons Pellers has been here, I think I can count - on one hand - the games that I thought he really nailed it. The rest felt like we winged it.
On tonights showing, to hurl on 2 more attackers immediately after half time, was a totally clear indication that he is fucking clueless. He has been allowed to spend £275m and at the same time has managed to wreck the team. He is draining them of confidence, trust, hope and willingness.
Once City new they had Pep, they should have dumped Pellers and gone and got Rafa to essentially prepare the team for Peps arrival. Pellers has nothing to lose now. Win, lose or draw, where ever we finish in the league, he don't give a shit.
For once, he should stand up, stop blaming everyone else and just say he was responsible for the result and apologise to the fans.
Rant over......................

I actually thought we had weathered the storm and was getting on top of the game, Liverpool looked lost at this stage even the booing of Sterling wasn't as loud. But hey ho just give them a goal out of no where, a total gift and we crumbled. Wtf was you doing Joe?
Made them look good after that.
Defeat is getting harder to take these days but deep down I never expected a win there, I would have been ecstatic with a draw and a battling performance.
Like many on here I keep thinking we can go on a run and turn it around but it's becoming clear we are not capable.

All this travelling my arse. What's the excuse for all the other times this season we've looked lethargic.
