Liverpool v City - post match thread

Klopp is amazing.

Got a total crap side playing up-tempo pressing football and dominating the best on-paper team in the league.

Thank God we have Pep coming.

Pool might even battle into the top 4 in a couple of seasons assuming its owners back some judicious spending.
 
1 excellent season doesn't make up for the last two seasons of turgid inept football. Last Sunday was amazing but we are so inconsistent it's unreal. Is nobody shaking the tree to find out why we are performing so poorly when they are earning scandalous amounts in wages and bonuses every week ?
Is Manuel getting a free pass because he won the COC and is leaving us ?

Those players need to take a long hard look at themselves. All those clubs above us with inferior budgets and resources are outplaying and out fighting them in every department and they are just letting them do it. Have our players got no shame at all ? Where are they hiding their bollocks !

Inbetween - excellent post.
Can anyone tell me why our players can't tackle? Navas, Sterling, Sergio, Bony - they do a lot of running and getting near their men, but never get that foot in that stops the opponent. Flip it round and we get tackled all over the park. Classic case last night - the ugliest defender in the Prem - Flanagan - battered into anyone in front of him. I was a defender in the good old days and I've never understood a pro footballer who cannot tackle.
 
how can you expect to win games, when the side play with zero motivation. We lost again last night because once again we are found wanting when it comes to the ugly side of the game, how many 2nd balls did we win, how many physical battles did we win, there is very little steel in our side. Ya Ya gets absolutely slaughtered on here, look at the side without him, totally rudderless, for his faults he controls the tempo of our team, retains the ball, brings players into the game. Last night was shameful
 
Absolutely woeful last night and I found myself becoming emotionally detached from the team. Watching their performance and effort was almost laughable.

You know it's been a poor year when you could pick out any of 4/5 games from this season and say it's the worst we've played in 5 years. Liverpool X 2, Stoke away, etc.

Pellegrini is just so disappointing when it comes to tactical flexibility and managing his player's performance. How we could play that badly after Sunday is baffling, but not as baffling as his substitutions and team selection.

He'd have to win the champions league to salvage this as we are nailed on to miss top 4 at this rate.

One reason we are inconsistent it's Pellegrini, his management of our squad as been appalling Silva shouldn't of started last night and Aguero looked knackered so bad should come of after 60 mins for nacho
