Think this will be the game of the season, should make for some good drunken boxing day football.

High scoring game with City to win.

We have nothing to lose really, no one expects us to beat you and I think out of the two clubs - a 0 points haul from this game would be worse for you than it will be for us.

We should give you a decent game, your defending has been suspect recently as well so I'm going 4-3 City.

Merry Xmas to you all!
If I were you (and thank god I ain't) I'd get some extra candles in for Boxing Day.

Mr Rodgers will come for a point on Thursday. Massed ranks behind the ball with Suarez ploughing a lonely furrow up front and falling down at every opportunity. He can't afford a mauling and looking all forlorn after the game by playing the high line.
There is no chance of this happening. Doesn't sound like you've watched too many games.

HUGE game.. I honestly think that if we beat Liverpool, we'll get 57 points at home this season. That would leave us only needing another 15 or so points away. It will also put a big marker down.

Chelsea would be no push-over at the Etihad

You are probably right. Despite what he has been saying, the 'draw specialist one' is the master of effective negativity and is reverting to type in the big games. It's already got 1-1 written all over it.
With our best 11, we can decimate them if they come here to defend...if they block us at center, we have got navas/Milner to give us width...if they try to stop Aguero from dribbling and scoring, we have Dzeko and Alvero to drill in headers....I think that is one match Pelle would love to get 5 in

suarez is making me sick. he has been for a while. and I mean that with utmost respect. nobody should be scoring this easy. I couldn't wait for zab to teach everybody a lesson in man marking and defending same as he did with ribery but ............well he is ............. fernandi would be the only i would trust with managing suarez

I am way to nervous and I shouldn't be. but anticipation is killing me. I won't be able to enjoy the holidays until this is over.

we win this and we will move to 2nd place. we lose and we are 5th behind Everton.

Gotta make sure Kompany is with him as much as possible. He will look to get on Demichelis all game
that will be his downfall. To be fair, Suarez tries to play in between the space btw the 2 CDs. So he will try to move around to avoid both CDs. Kompany t will probably do the close marking, as Demechelis is better at overall reading the game and playing sweeper.

Does anyone know whether Zaba will be fit enough for this match? To be honest I doubt it,but can someone please fill me in on his situation,as well as on Jovetic.

I think this is gonna be a really hard match....Suarez will push Demichelis to the limit ,but since Liverpool usually play with 1 up top, Kompany should be able to help. If Zaba isn't fit, I would play Milner at RB as he is a work horse, an okish tackler but can get up and down well to help our attacks. I know I might get stick for saying this, but I would play Kolarov at LB,cause he has impressed me over the past weeks, and over the whole season, I see that Clichy isn't as good defensivly as last season.

I would also go with 1 up to top if Jovetic is injured and the formation could be something like this:

-----------------------------Hart
--Milner------Kompany--Demichelis---Kolarov
--------------Yaya------------Dinho
Jesus Navas-------------Silva----------------Nasri
-----------------------------Negredo

However,if Zaba is fit,he replaces Milner. And if Jovetic is fit enough ,I would put him instead of navas and push him more centrally and start Silva out wide. Then after 60 or so mins, I would sub Jovetic off for Navas

Usually agree with your points, and I value Demichelis... but that is bollocks. IMO, Kompany is better than him at literally everything (which shouldnt be seen as a slight on Martin). He's the best defender in the world... IMO of course.

This game will depend on who bosses the midfield since both teams are doing great in attack. On one hand I'm looking forward to Suarez having go at demichelis (provided that our midfield is able to support him) and at the same time dreading Navas against Flanagan. Flano Had problem against pacy wingers and I think Navas might be the fastest player in EPL with bags of trick. Exploit that and you'll have us on back foot with midfield trying to bail out Flano on left side.

You have annihilated good sides like United, Arsenal and spurs at your place. So I hope we don't get the same treatment. To be honest, the spurs result has given us a lot of confidence and lifted the pressure a bit. City is not a must win game for us so any result against you will boost us. Hoping for good game and hopefully Rodgers gets his tactics right (Spurs and Arsenal's high defensive lines was suicidal tactic against attack that consisted of Aguero, Negredo, Navas, Yaya and Silva ).

Good luck and merry X'mas.

We have the players to put them under more pressure then they have had at any time all season. We have to rip into them from kick-off.

agree that Kompany is the top defender in your squad. His performance will be crucial to the outcome of the match

If the usual City turn up you have no chance. But there will come a game at home when City have a bad game. Each home game, I think it might happen, but we've swept all aside apart from Bayern Munich.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to Hansen's critique of Demichelis's defending at Fulham. He had 8 seasons at Bayern Munich, and last season he was the best defender in Spain we are told. Statistically Opta reported that he and Sakho were the best defenders last weekend.

City's weakness is that when we lose the ball upfield we are very open and teams can counter-attack against us and get straight through...see Fulham's first. Silva loses the ball on the edge of the Fulham penalty area and in a quick counter-attack. But I like the way we play. I'll take the defensive weakness that comes from attacking so much

The unknown for City is how we can cope without Aguero against a good team. It did not cost us against Fulham, but it might against Liverpool. Negredo and Dzeko are different types of players to Aguero. And we may also be missing both right backs so it's the perfect time to play City. I stil think City are favourites, but there are potential weaknesses to exploit
