IMO Sterling did a great job on Clyne in the final. I remember him beating him a lot. If we can get Navas on the other side doing that to moreno we will have a great chance beating these. Come on MCFC!!!!

Dippers reckon they are gutted ahead of tonight. No Moreno,Lucas. Possibly no Sturridge, Emre Can or Sahko. Likely to see Benteke, Skrtl & Joe Allen come into the side.

.............Mignolet..................
Clyne...Skrtl...Kolo...Mr I want to play centre midfield for a club with loads of histree..
........Lallana.....Joe Allen.......
..............Henderson............
Ibe...........Benteke........Coutinho

If we hit the first goal and anyone other than Raheem nets it, it'll kill the crowd. That's the real big factor.

I think anything less than a win is the end of our title charge, so it's a big one tonight.

All these lineup predictions resting key players. Omg. If there is one manager really solid and easy to predict it's Pellers. What is so difficult about that?
Well I know it's fun to have a guess and that some love to gamble on high odds. Anyway.

We have the momentum. Some players back from injury. Cup in hand. Team standing close together. Leader back on board.

They have a piss poor season at home. Forget historical statistics and feelings, times have changed. They didn't create nearly anything against us on Sunday and had a mare with our defence.
But they could just destroy the match, cause we need em all 3 points to gain ground. They don't.
That could be the main tactical issue of this match.

My hope is, Sergio is back to normal efficiency, was not the usual killer in the final. That alone could be enough for what we need.
Pellers was smart enough to give Liverpool possession that they cannot use. Do that again being more efficient in the box should be enough.
It seems Liverpool cannot change too much from Sunday till now to create real threats.
I think we get it all.

How do you think they feel? Completely floored by losing on pens? Quite rightly so, they must be drained. And the better team won on the day. And they know it. How they react is the key tonight. If half or more of them are still knocked out from the result then concentration will be out of the window and they should be there for the taking. No Sturridge/Lucas/Sahko etc is a bonus, but, the converse could also happen - they'll all be miraculously fit and gunning for revenge. Keep Coutinho quiet (didn't offer too much on Sunday) and job done! Early 1st goal for us is crucial, as mentioned above. But City will be confident, happy and relatively fresh - BECAUSE WE WON AND THEY DIDN'T!!

As long as the ref doesn't give them a soft penalty or three, I feel as confident as I've ever felt about a trip to Anfield. Unfortunately, the way this season has gone, I wouldn't rule out the soft penalties.

This....

Coupled with quotes from Kompany declaring "hunting season" -
"Just take all the gates off and go for it. It's a little bit less calculated and probably more entertainment value for people watching but it's the only way for us to get there now because we're in a trailing position. It's a weird feeling but its hunting season so it's better to be chasing than be chased in some ways. The whole organisation, everyone at the club has to have the knife between the teeth..."

I reckon there is a buzz in our locker room that has been missing for some time. We have experience in that locker room that no one else in the league can come close to matching (in terms of chasing teams down). Sweet mother of God it is wonderful to have our Captain back...

City 4-1 tonight with a Sterling brace...

I don’t see any changes other than Joe back in net.

At a push I’d get Navas in. I would drop Yaya, if Pellers was going to do it he would drop Fernando.

The team picks itself. We have a few players recently back from injury who are just finding form and some people are suggesting resting them. I think it is only sustained regular matches that starts to bring on fatigue. Yaya and Fdinho have played loads but the rest of the squad have had periods out – they don’t need any rest.
