Long weekend in Istanbul at end of May - Turkey on Govt Red List

Yeah around that figure mate, which isnt too bad considering they will rocket if we do it come 10pm Tuesday
The numbers in Turkey would suggest it will likely be an amber list country when travel resumes. So 10 days' self-isolation and 3 PCR tests is something to factor in to the equation.

How much were they? I saw direct from Manchester for £260

Don’t forget, most airlines have COVID rules allowing for cancellation and refund, or at worse, credit for a future flight.

In the US you can get a full refund for any airfare when cancelled within 24 hours of booking. Not sure its the same in UK/EU? but if it is, book the flight around 11pm the night before the game and you can cancel for free if the worst happens.

Edit : just noticed this for BA

Everyone I know who's been to Istanbul says it's a terrific town. One of the few big cities in the world that I'd like to visit that I've never been to. Ever since seeing Topkapi when I was about ten or something, dreamt of going there. And getting up on to the roof. And getting that diamond encrusted dagger.
Excellent City. Been a few times. The Golden Horn is amazing, as a the Blue Mosque and Ayasofia.

I booked my plane tickets a couple of months ago and booked my hotel today.
It is all redundable.
I dont think the match will be there, anyway.
UEFA will want to play it somewhere they can get fans in the ground an ther is a stadium that has had fans in it (I was one of them) a few days ago and they can charge a pretty penny.

Barring that, I am sure Daniel Levy will be happy to let people in for £300 a pop.

I am fully vaxxed and my bookings are based on the principle that I would rather have something I dont need than need something I dont have.

To clarify on this one. If you book your flight now with BA, you get a full refund if you cancel less than 24 hours after you booked the flight.
IF you cancel the flight after that, they give you a fare voucher to the value of the cost of your book.
So if you are going to fly with BA elsewhere, you wont lose out.

Weirdly, the current lock down in Turkey does NOT apply to tourists !
Yes same as last year
It's crackers
I have a Resident Permit and as over 65 had to be home by 9pm
My mate visiting me was on Holliday so had no restrictions
Fortuantly as in a Holliday resort the police were not doing spot checks
