Lowest away following.

Still my greatest BBC football radio commentary , FA cup at Roots Hall . Southend battered us on a mud heap but we snatched a 1-0 may have been Joe Hayes.
Sand & shells off the beach to soak up the water on the pitch, according to the book on City's '56 Cup run. But bugger me, had no idea till now that it was on the radio or what I'd have been doing that Saturday afternoon. 66 years later you tell me this?? Feels like i forgot to look when Aguero scored.

Went to a midweek game probably early 90's v Wimbledon, late October I think (maybe early November), at Selhurst Park, there were only a couple of hundred there, I think it finished 0-0, or 1-1.

It was utterly miserable, I think it was my daughters first away game, I doubt she'll remember it fondly either, she was 4 or 5, it was bloody freezing, did I mention miserable ?

Chelsea in September 88 when away fans were banned. Not sure how many were there because keeping a low profile was the wise move .... which proved a challenge as we won 3-1.
I Remember that Tues night match.Paul Moulden scored a belter.
In the top tier of the then pretty new Chelsea West stand.
Blues kept low profile as u say , we finally revealed ourselves when the 3rd went in...Iirc the away fan ban was due to rioting m' Boro fans at the end of the previous season.

The attendance was something pathetic like 9,000...

Altho it's fair to say Chelsea brought thousands to Maine rd in the return fixture..filled the Platt Lane end and were very loud...beat us 3-2 but the scoreline didn't reflect their superiority on the day.

The season we beat Huddersfield 10-1 and beat them over 3 ties in FA Cup; we took a surprisingly small number to the away league game. We lost one nil. Think they’d been relegated by then and we were well off getting promoted. I went though !
Most folk were prob sick of Huddersfield by the time of the away fixture the
After the 10-1, the 2-2 away cup tie,the 1st repay at Maine rd nil nil (which I missed)..then the 3nil win in the pouring rain 2nd replay at their place.
I missed the away league fixture.sounds like loads more did too.

I was at that one. Horrible.

Yes Chelsea rioted after losing in the play offs (wasn't it Sunderland?). As a result the Shed and away end terraces were closed, only the two stands running the length of the pitch were open

O. O

Season United gave us zero away tickets. Scholes header 1-0 to them. Was sat in their end. Horrible
I was also at this derby. There was another derby when we lost 2-1, Quinn scored for City. We only got allocated around 500 tickets in the scoreboard end. I was in the united road on my own but sat on a row full of city fans.
