Loyalty Points - Now a Joke

Didn't think it sold out that early tbh
Because it didn't. If you look at the Arsenal away tickets thread people were still buying on the 23rd of March at 3,500 points. 3,500 is a pretty ordinary points total. I'd be extremely surprised if more than a few thousand season ticket holders have less than that. You're certainly no superfan at that level. The idea that hardcore awayers were denied tickets for this one is laughable.

Yes, the only games where I could imagine that happening would be the Swamp derby and possibly Chelsea away although the latter had more to do with City only taking the smaller allocation.

Despite all the criticism of the points system I've not seen a better idea that would make a genuine difference. An away "seasoncard" would be just as open to abuse for touting as the current system and would probably have a premium cover charge added for good measure.

If an away season card came in the only fair way of selling it be using the points system and the first 3000 that buy one then their gone giving people on low points at the moment no chance of going to away

On another note how to clubs sell these if they sold 3000 then only get an allocation of 2500 what happens then

What I think would be a really good idea would be for the club to publish the number of supporters between bands of points...

i.e.

10,000 - 9001 = x number of fans
9000 - 8001 = y number of fans
8000 - 7001 = z number of fans

that way everyone knows roughly where they sit in line to get a ticket!

You may laugh but I had 3380pts before Arsenal and I managed to get a ticket so now have 3420 - where my target for the end of the season was 3500 - I'm hoping to go to Wolves + Newcastle which would work out perfectly - but that is looking a little bleak.

I'm no less of a fan than anyone with 8000+ loyalty points - the fact that I only got a decent job a few years ago coupled along with having to relocate to near Bristol + fuel costs means I have limited points (I used to buy my tickets on a game by game basis rather than season card which I have now).

I do respect the system fully - and if used correctly would work 100% of the time - but hearing that there are 'tourists' getting tickets disheartens me. I tried to get a ticket to Norwich but they sold out the day before it went down to 3000... I would be gutted if you guys who are going find people going who 'have nothing better to do' are there instead of me, a loyal supporter who is trying to build up his points so he can get out of this situation that he is in!

I've never really looked into it, but the best way would be to offer say 1000 to the top points holders and then the rest are sold as they are now.

Just join a Supporters Club then and you'll have no problem.

Not exactly, as that covers all aways including Cups and Finals and is hugely overpriced. I was thinking more of league aways only.

Has anybody sat down and actually worked out if you went to every game this season whether or not Superbia was a good deal?

loyalty points are a joke since you got a bonus for platinum/superbia etc.
ive had a season ticket for 21 years now but stuck with the lowest price season card and didnt join cup schemes as its a pain in the arse swapping shifts every week and somtimes i just cant swap anyway and i found out that people who have had a season ticket for only a couple of years and joined all the cup schemes etc now have almost the same points as me.

The other thing to remember is that a number of London clubs sell tickets in the away end from their ticket office, both this year and last at Chelsea I have sat close to people that didn't realize they where in the away end!
