Loyalty Points - Time For Change?

Eight games didn't sell out last year
Eleven games sold out on 0 points

That's nineteen, 19, away games lower points people can go to if they choose

So that's nineteen away games you can take him to next year GX, he'll be over the Bluemoon

And those games would have cost you £815 plus your travel, and then his ticket on top

And on a personal note to your OP, my son got his first season ticket in 2000 when he was nine
And last season was the first time he got a scum away league game ticket under his own points, and he's 22.

Another thread on loyalty point scheme. Nothing wrong with it. If it isn't broken don't try and fix it. Plenty of away games last year went to very low points or general sale. Don't start moaning because you want the Barcelona Away, Liverpool, United Away. Do you ground work like going to Reading away 4 days after losing the FA Cup against Wigan in the fucking pissing rain.
All of us that have 10K+ have been going when we were total fucking shite and even now you see the same faces doing the London trips such as West Ham away 5.30 on a Saturday that no other fuck wants to go to. Simple you want the points invest your own time and money and don't think that because the good years have arrived that you deserve the best tickets because you have 3 shirts and a fuck off big car sticker.

Not directed just at the OP just at all those that complain about the system.

Although De Niro didn't say as much I will. Fuck off winging and turn up to the games that you can when your tickets become available within a few years you might start to have a chance of the better tickets.

If you read my OP then I have enough points to go to every game I want. The only thing that highlighted it to me was when I added my 4 year old to the waiting list earlier on whilst renewing my 2 ST's. I don't want to jeopardise my position and a 10 year rolling one wouldn't. I go to enough aways to stay near the top and as such can go to OT every year.

You are of course assuming that this ticket wouldn't be renewed by a different person, who would then continue to use the ticket.

Also, regarding Platinum, everyone seems to view it as paying an extra £50 for double loyalty points. I've always looked at it that if you aren't the sort of fan who wants to do away games, then you can save £50 by going Gold. City could easily have just put all the season ticket prices up by an extra £50, theoretically removing the Gold option.

You're absolutely right in your first point and I accept there will be some that abuse the system, including renting out their ST, passing it on, etc

As for platinum, why should it be that if you want to go to lots of away games, you need to pay a £50 premium to your ST ?

Say when tickets for the PL away derby went on sale, the club said you can queue jump 3 'tiers' (for instance from being day 6 to day 3) in return for a £25 premium on the ticket price ? There would be quite rightly complete outrage - we wouldn't collectively accept the principle that the club allocates limited quantity tickets on the basis of who pays the most. So what's the difference between that example and platinum ?
Would you prefer the put all season tickets up by £50?

At least this way those that don't want to do aways can save £50.

Too young for next year Squirty. I am waiting for the 2015-16 season when he will be 6 and understands it a bit more. Took him to Norwich this season and he was a bloody nightmare!

My point being that he can go to any away game I choose to take him to when he is a junior as I can buy using my points total. The issue is when he is older. If I take him each time I go then I will be getting the same points as him (He won't be going Euro aways :) ) so he can never catch me. So he could go to 19 away games each season until he is 18 then bang he can't go to OT anymore as he is nowhere near the top group. So he has shown 12 years of going to the each home game and 19 aways a year but suddenly can't go as he doesn't have enough points.

Hopefully that example demonstrates my point?

As my son's example shows you, it can be done
Last year was the first time he qualified in his own right

It could be done but your lad will have had a 15 year head start on my lad. I am just trying to say that the gap is only going to get harder to bridge until it is impossible. Well until all the oldies start dying!

That'll be me, cheers

Lad I know at work has 16k points.
He buys every away ticket even if he doesn't go & sells it on, so he gets all the points.

Whilst we should reward loyalty, how can that be fair?

No-one will ever catch him who has less.

I've mentioned this last year, this will keep raising it's head more and more, cos it will be the same people going to all the cup finals ie FA cup where we only get a small allowance for the final.Imagine when we have a much larger following, when we have 60,000+ capacity, maybe 50,000 season ticket holders.

The club must find a way to accommodate, and keep the interest,in season ticket holders with less points.

My own belief is to find an appropriate percentage ie 20 percent, and put these tickets in a ballot, including juniors in a different ballot. Discuss?

He's not alone. There are dozens who do this. Attend all 19 always in theory but have never been further than Stoke!

If these whores didn't do that then perhaps there would be less call to change the current loyalty system.
