£88 million for a player who had a decent half season is just mad. The PL is out of fucking control, it wouldn't surprise me that players are going to ask for mandatory release clauses before moving to smaller clubs. Just look how the Kudus deal is collapsing because Brighton don't want to include a release clause.

Very snobbish attitude from this post.

The smaller club have every right to protect their interest and invesment to ensure their financial stability. Player insisting release clause will going to make them harder to make money to sell them to bigger club.

The "smaller" clubs are also wealthy clubs in their own right, all PL clubs are wealthy.
