Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

Assuming Doku still happens.

Gundogan out - Kovacic in.
Mahrez out - Doku in.
Laporte out - Gvardiol in.

I don't see how we're weaker. Palmer has obviously come on leaps and bounds and McAtee and Bobb are good enough to pick up a dozen games each.
Kovacic as good as he is is missing a few traits that Gundo had namely creativity and goals so in that sense we are, weaker.

You also have to factor in we are missing Kdb for 3- 4months so IF it stays,as you have put we,are a lot weaker in terms of creativity and goals.........all of this affects Haaland as well....Notice how isolated he was both against Saville and arsenal...

Im upset people are talking about a second rate player who has already signed for another club. What relevance does that have to anything.

I might start a new thread, We should have signed Messi in 2005.
First post, "Maybe we would have got UEFA cup that year, with him and Darius Vassell up top, anyone disagree?"
Well this thread must be making you really upset because why are we talking about a second rate player in Paqueta?

Could he be great, sure. Reality is he is not Bellingham, Rice, Caicedo, Valverde, or other players in this vain.

I can never quite get my head around people with no knowledge of an issue just blame Txiki.

What if he's asked for 900k per week, does that make Txiki useless?

What if we've found out that when Paqueta was 15, he liked to set fire to bunny rabbits. Txiki useless?

What if we've learned that his knee is made of cheese, Txiki useless?

The knee jerk blame Txiki thing is so, so bizarre.
He must learn a lot if things none of us are party to - given the amount of imminent deals that come to nothing.

Hasn't signed for another club though has he. Which is what the topic is here, think what you like about the player but at least the option of signing him is on the table.

Maddison isn't. So what is the point of the conversation.

Not necessarily - incompetent may be a bit strong, but it's been disappointing and unless we pull something out of the hat, not what we expected after the Treble and the big talk. Over to Pep again.
Hope that's not too blasphemous.
No I think that’s a valid take. If we still have the current squad at the end of the window it won’t have been a great result for us.

You do realise we are currently one over the allowed 21. That is excluding Foden, who is club trained, and Palmer, McAtee,Bobb, etc who are B-list youth.

Quality or balance might be up for debate in terms of what's lacking, but numbers, as things stand, really isn't.
We've certainly got a big enough squad, but we seem to have a lot of defenders.

With Gundogan and Mahrez gone, and De Bruyne out long term, it feels like we are one tricky midfielder short.

Hopefully Palmer can stay and step up this season.
