I was going to respond, till I saw you have no understanding of what the make-up of a champions league squad is and what foreign slots are. Which, btw, has been explained here almost as many times as people have been called flappers.

You also seem to apply the concept of future business very loosely, and when it suits. Laporte and Cancelo are no more leaving than Pequeta and Doku are coming. Yet you are comfortable one will happen, but panicking about the other.

Would be happy to disagree, as we do on other opinions. But your numbers (not the table, so much) are categorically wrong. It can't be a squad short on numbers, if it is full.

As I've just explained... Laporte, Cancelo and Perrone won't be in the squad come the end of the window.

Sergio Gomez isn't a key player either so he can be taken out of the CL squad.

We definitely don't have a big squad. That is clear.

You say that but we walk away from deals after giving our valuation so can't see us getting rinsed, they either sell at the price we say is fair and not taking the piss or walk away, clubs knows this as West Ham do, up to them now.

Let’s see what happens then, because as it stands we haven’t got the squad as it is to maintain a challenge on all fronts. If anyone thinks this transfer window is building on the success of the treble win, then they’re going to be very disappointed.

It's been a shite window. You will be labelled a flapper for having the temerity to suggest so.

But the question is this; is the squad stronger or weaker than last season? If you're answering stronger or the same then your head is buried in a Sahara's worth of sand. We shouldn't be looking at a weaker squad after the season we've just had.

Edit: Our best midfielder is now missing for half the season, which should have expedited the Paqueta signing, not stopped it dead in its track

Bang on. For whatever reason the squad depth as gone backwards. OK, you can’t legislate for what happened to KDB so early, but it was clear he was rushed back. After winning the treble and announcing record revenues City should have strengthened the squad straightaway, especially with Gundo and Mahrez leaving. Now we’re in a race against time to get the right players in, which will include inflated transfer prices that the selling club/s with hold out for, until we walk away again.

They didn't know Gundo was leaving for sure, and Mahrez came out of leftfield. Apart from that, though...
