I rate the lad,its an awful lot of money, which he isn't currently worth......but i just wish we were in a financial position to take the same gamble.

You really do have to commend United. Their youth policy and continued ability to unearth these gems for nominal fees is quite something.

Their production line is something to behold.

How have they managed to essemble 3 of England's all contouring future back 4 for a mere £60 million.

Smalling, Phil Jones & Shaw for just £60 million, they really are a special club. It's just ashame that De Gea pledged his alligence to Spain, another home grown star. England are lucky to have United.

They are having their pants pulled down thus far

Over £30mil for an ok left back, never going to be world class and 29mil for an uncapped(so behind the likes of Javi G, Iturrapse, Mario Suarez) approaching 25year old, who again looks average...HAAA

Every team just have a tall guy on him and hoof it to him Shaw biggest flaw is he can't win a header for toffee on the deck the lad is a cracking player but 30m is 15m to much

He will be a brilliant player for them and will only get better make no mistake. They have paid way over the top but when he starts whipping in crosses for Van Rapist to knock in they'll soon forget that. I rate Kolarov but his lack of pace is frustrating at times.

Still not solved their central midfield crisis either. Putting all their hopes on Carrick (33, 1 goal 0 assists last season), an average Spaniard, Cleverley and Fellaini. Not a single bit of defensive nous between all four players.
Jury is still out on Luke Shaw. £30mil is a huge fee for a young left back, but he could come good. But all it takes is one injury to take a yard of pace out and you're left with an average defender. They still need a DM and a good CB. Unless Van Gaal completely galvanises the team and RVP stays fit, I don't think they'll get past 4th.

I know absolutely nothing about Shaw. Nothing. He played 1 game in the WC, was okay, nowt special. The fact that ANYONE is willing to pay 30 million for an 18 lad who's had one good season is astounding. And was Evra THAT bad anyway? I thought the right back and central defense needed more strength.

This aside, with the likes of Herrera, Mata, Kagawa, Janijzz. There's some potential there for a decent manager to work with. If they can keep RVP fit as well.

Make me laugh call us like mad for overspending then they over inflate the market but reality is nobody wants to go there so they have to offer big money can see them spunking fortunes on average players.

Strange signing, can't imagine van gaal has watched him play much, so who is pulling the strings? Also wasn't Herrera a target a long time before van gaal was involved?

Yes but they showed him a few YouTube montages of them both and he jizzed his pants.

True story

There's a team who play in red, their fans are complete idiots who are self obsessed and will bang on about history at any given time. They over spend on average players and tell the world their the next this and that, that their gonna dominate the world.

What team am I talking about? Clue, its NOT Liverpool.

Are you sure? It certainly sounds like them to me.

And of course, this is all fine with UEFA. They love teams that are riddled with debt and taking money OUT of the sport in interest payments, spending vast sums of money on players. It's sides like us, with no debt, that are the real problem.

England's number one left back. He may not be the best, but he's just guaranteed himself that shirt
Leighton Baines may as well retire from international football, along with every other English left back aged 18 or over.
