If he went to Chelsea, would he play ahead of Azpilicueta? No chance. Just look at how Mournhi speaks about Azpilicueta. He's also been the best LB in the league this season.

We have to be favourites for Shaw.

He's a natural right-back though. If Cole's on his way, having only 2 other fullbacks, both right-sided, I doubt he'd struggle for opportunities.

This.

Kolarov has also been one of the best left-backs in the league this season.

I think Shaw's playing style would suit us better than it would Chelsea's.

Shaw is a modern day attacking fullback - almost a wingback - and Mourinho doesn't seem to like his fullbacks bombing on as much as the likes of Pochettino, Pellegrini, Martinez etc... do.

Mourinho likes his back four to be as close to each other as possible.

If I was shaw I wouldn't move to us ur record on young players, especially English is terrible right now. I would move to either united or Liverpool where I would have a better chance of playing

I've noticed something... on one hand you complain about our lack of English players. Then when we're linked with one, you say he shouldn't come here. So what do you want exactly?

It's obvious that if Shaw did come here, it'd be at the expense of Clichy or Kolarov, so he'd play at least 30 games a season. Clichy and Kolarov have exactly 25 appearances each for City so far this season. Shaw has made 30 appearances for Southampton, just 5 more than our rotated left-backs, because his club play less games (earlier cup eliminations + no Europe).

tl;dr: Shaw would play lots of games here and probably become our #1 left-back before too long. It'd be a good move for him and for the club, because unlike too many of our English signings like Sinclair (who can't even get on West Brom's bench most weeks), he has a level of talent beyond most young English players.
