Yes we’re amazing in the league but I think I understand when some critics claim peps style falters against the better sides in Europe. We concede far too many chances, if Lyon were clinical we would’ve got hammered tonight. I hope I’m wrong and we sweep all before us, really would like to see us win the CL for Silva/Kun and Kompany.

And the quality of the opponent, and the sheer importance of the game to them. Huge game for themGood result, disjointed performance. Looked a bit unbalanced but not surprising given our injuries.

Ndombele looks decent,strong and good range of passing,saying that they have a few decent players who could move on,wouldn’t surprise me a few will get snaffled up by PSG in the summer ..
There is no need for a vote - no one else was close.Poor performance from many, but good spirit to get back in it twice, job done.
Anyone who doesn't vote Laporte for MoTM needs specsavers.

Job done but we were very fortunate, Lyon should have won that comfortably in truth. The slight change in formation didnt go well.
Mahrez was woeful, as was zinchenko who as well as being poor also repeatedly kept getting in the way of Silva, hampering his game too.
Sterling had license to roam today but didn't have an impact on the game, Sane was the best of the 3 which made it surpising he was subbed but he wasn't much better.
Fernandinho's early unwarranted yellow meant he couldn't be his usual self. Aguero looked lively but had zero supply,
Walker for some reason is always half the player in europe for some reason, Laporte and Stones were excellent. Delph had a great impact once he came on.
Ndombele was absolutely superb and we should be all over him, Pep could turn him into something special.

You know every year a smaller team tends to suprise the competition by going far into the knockout rounds. That could be Lyon this year
Good result as we are missing a few players especially in midfield, we need a couple back asap. Unfortunately for us we have Mendy and Gundog who seem to be perpetually injured which is constantly weakening our squad. I hope KDB isn't going to fall into this category!
Pep says no January additions but if a half decent left back becomes available we should grab them even as back up. DM we are two years overdue as we are flogging Ferna to death but I guess that will have to wait until the summer. Anyway job done we are through.
