Lyon (A) - Post Match Thread

Great result tonight they were the better team but we dug in and I’ll take the draw all day long. I thought Laporte had a great game again. We need to make sure we don’t let the other team take quick free kicks we was half asleep when they scored.
 
Enjoyed that. Great football match. The overreacting on the match day was standard but funny all the same. They played it like a cup final.

The ball just wouldn’t sit. Sterling scoffing a shot or two and Spanish Dave a little off colour. It happens.

Onwards we go.
 
It's also apparent that we've got something very special on our hands with Laporte.

Didn't think I'd ever see a day where Komoany was an afterthought in this team. This lad is something else, honestly think he is the ready made replacement. Him or stones future club captains.
 
In the later stages we will have Kev, Bernardo and Ilkay fit - tonight Marhez playing left us a little exposed in midfield. Good game but the Lyon players do like to fall over a bit. Great result all things considered.
 
Well it really wasn't a great performance but we fought 'til the end. Sterling's free-kick and motm Aymeric thumped it right into the corner. Mahrez' corner and Agüero jumped highest flicking it into the side netting. Not very fluid tonight but hopefully not a cause for concern. Still so happy we got through and just about topped the group!
 
Considering the players we had missing, I thought we did well. We were always going to be lacking in the midfield.
