Lyon CL QF Post-Match Thread

I'm not saying go all Klopp on us, but why doesn't pep ever try to stick to something like a strongest starting 11 for most games?

This team doesn’t lack a cutting edge ffs! That selection of players/tactics was just plain wrong tonight, and that’s why we lost
I’m as critical as anyone about the team selection I thought as soon as I saw it like numerous times this season he picked the slow immobile option but and it’s been the same every time the players have been responsible for making poor mistakes and missing very good chances that regardless of the team selection and tactics would have change the result in many of the games

That second Lyon goal should be offside.

Playing a dummy is still ‘playing the ball’. If it’s not might as well next year we have a player in the offside position and play dummy headers and dummy nutmegs.

in a way you all knew like me we was going to get done over after the win at CAS ? its simple cheating and VAR can not see the foul or the offside because the play moves towards the ball and dummy the ball its offside

but like many european football can fuck off and am never going or watching another champions league game
you can never beat a system and 4 match officials

Pep over thought it again.
The formation would have been OK if the right players had played and we put the ball down the channels one in 3 times (but we never do).
Fern is finished and Bernardo should have played instead with him swapping places with Walker.
As to Gundogan - well Pep sees something that I don't.
Since the restart it has been "Dont start Foden and we lose."
The formation would never have been ok unless we had decent wing backs, we had none.

fucking gash all game but ffs stop moaning about offside for goal. go and read rule book. we might not like it but if he does not touch he ball he is not offside. yeah probably foul when legs got tangled up but no offside at all even if the rule maybe needs changing
Laporte was lazy all game. Refused to chase anything. Just puts his arm up everytime and expects the offside call.

I’m so disappointed for Merlin.

But also for Phil, who loves this club and would have given his all, but didn’t get a look in. Also Bernardo, who was back in his home town surrounded by family and friends and didn’t get near the pitch.

It was just a disaster from beginning to end against the 7th team in the French league.
