Do you know what? In between all this reactionary posting one thing stands out to me - Pep switched formation and brought in a player who no longer wants to be at our club. Unforgivable.

The point is we play our usual game and we win this! Why do revert to 5 at the back? Why do obvious contentious decisions go against us? If your not pissed off with this sequence of events then your expectations aren’t high enough. We have the so called best manager and best players so this should fucking hurt!And your point?
The day we start thinking we have a right to win trophies and act like the entitled cunts, then I am out.

A shit show from the start.
Most of this falls on Pep, that initial formation/set up was just fucking bizarre. It gave too much respect to a good but not amazing Lyon team (lowest finish for 23 years in Ligue Un!).
What is wrong with playing our style, with our players, some of whom happen to be the best in the world who were all in a high from besting Madrid?
It's just not good enough from Pep. He does this time and time again in CL.
He then essentially asked our players to win a game by chasing it from a goal down with half an hour left. Increasing the pressure to perform, which no doubt led to the individual errors. Laporte's pass for the 2nd, Sterling's miss, Ederson's blunder all avoidable but all made when in a fucking dire position being asked to play a system unfamiliar and unsuitable for the situation. Not changing it sooner just amplified the clusterfuck.
Not going to down the VAR rabbit hole, that goal shouldn't have stood, but there was so much else wrong in that performance that it almost pales into insignificance. Questions need to be asked, that was fucking wank.
And thanks for everything Silva, gutted for him that it ended in such a fashion. If you could take Fernandinho with you to Italy too that'd be great. Love him but old father time has caught up with him too, it's like he's running with an open parachute these days.

Txiki and Ferran have their heads up Pep's ass but Khaldoon will be absolutely furious tonight.

Apart from the starting line-up which was a mind-f*** for all of us, that's not hindsight, or my pre-match team.
When it clearly was not working Pep made only two subs, Mahrez and D. Silva on 84 minutes, not utilizing Foden
or Bernie. Too little too late, going down with not our best from the start to finish and 3 unused subs is hard to take,
the rest is just excuses.

Very, very poor by our high standards. We started with at least 3 of our best players in the bench in terms of David, Bernardo & Phil. No way Garcia and Gundogan should have started ahead of any of those 3. Pep has been great since he came in, but tonight’s selection was an absolute brain fart!

Foden loves the club and is best player since restart but is dropped for entire match.
Did Rodri and Gundogan manage a forward pass between them?

The formation would have been OK if the right players had played and we put the ball down the channels one in 3 times (but we never do).
Fern is finished and Bernardo should have played instead with him swapping places with Walker.
As to Gundogan - well Pep sees something that I don't.

No, he didn't attempt to play the ball so offside isn't applied. It was the foul in the build-up that was the VAR fuck-up.3) VAR misses ball through the legs of the offside player

45 minutes of dross and individual mistakes cost us the game. The same old mistakes of poor defensive
judgment. We need to attack the ball better in dangerous areas and stop giving away silly balls. We got fucked

I thought cancelo didn’t do too bad tbh . I know I’m gonna get blasted for this but here goes . I’m starting to think pep has run his course with us . We have had 2 great seasons and 2 good seasons and I wouldn’t swap them for the world but this style of football which was so effective is now suddenly not working so great and my big concern is the lack of a plan b . When we run out of ideas we don’t don’t seem to know what to do next and that is worrying when we are faced with chasing down a team who were 18 points better than us last season . End of the day this is my opinion and we are all entitled to one .
