Lyon travel plans

Arriving at Lyon airport at 10:20pm on Monday. We are staying in Lyon Centre, its a 32 minute taxi which is going to cost us £73 each!! Any ideas of a cheaper way?

Or perhaps anyone on the same flight and could split costs?

They don't do a shuttle bus, but there is a tram called the Rhone Express. Costs around €13 a head to get from Lyon airport into the city.

Anybody after cheap buses and coaches between airports etc who aren't flying into Lyon. Check out gopili.co.uk for all info, it'll direct you to oui bus or flix bus, both very cheap options in Europe.

Taken from the Everton website when they played them last November. Hope they do the same for our game.

Plane:

Before the match via public transport:

From Lyon City Centre (Square Bellecour) to the Groupama Stadium: the advised departure time from Bellecour is between 3pm and 4pm local time (at the latest). (It was a 7pm KO)
• Metro (M D) to << Gare de Venissieux>> stop at << Grange Blache station>>
• When out the station reach Tram (T 5) to << Eurexpo>> stop at << Parc du Chene Station>>
• Where there will be direct and free shuttle from <<Parc du Chene station>> to Grouama Stadium.

After the match via public transport:
From Groupama Stadium back to Lyon City Centre (Square Bellecour)
• Head to the direct and free shuttle - from the away fan stand to <<La Soie>> Metro Station.
• Metro (M A) to <<Perache>> stop at <<Bellecour Station>>

No worries, there should be kiosks at the airport to buy tickets for the same service, for those who don't want to buy in advance.
