Yeah, the police definitely made an absolute mess of that one. If iI remembe correctly they didn't even search the house until weeks later and they didn't interview the immediate relatives into quite late on. That ransom note was pretty suspect though.

Have you ever considered emotional abuse which many women are very guilty of towards men?

There wasn’t enough evidence to charge them IMO. Plenty of circumstantial stuff and inconsistencies in the stories of themselves and their friends but that alone isn’t enough. They may or may not be responsible but it’s not as simple as not having enough evidence to charge them. The McCanns have friends in high places and I think there was pressure at government level from the UK to their Portuguese counterparts to let them return home. In a way I think that suited the Portuguese as I think it was becoming a bit of an embarrassment for them.

In the Netflix series, they had a guy who was absolutely wedged up come in out of nowhere and help them with legal funds to prevent them being sent back to Portugal (his words not mine) after they left and eventually help fund private Investigations after the Portuguese investigation pretty much finished.
 
I’ve just finished watching the Netflix documentary... I don’t think the McCanns had anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance with anything further than being terrible parents who neglected their children and left them open to be abducted (which is what I think happened).

That apartment looks like it was really easy to access with a quiet road running next to it which looks like it’d be a dark and private/quiet area at night where would be easy to stay clandestine.

It wouldn’t surprise me if one day it comes out that some of those Portuguese investigators are involved with a paedophile ring with the strange way they dealt with the other missing girl from 2004 who was also never found.

I’d say the McCanns should be punished for neglect but they are being punished for it every second of every day as they do not have their daughter.

This is a horrible story but it should not be forgotten that this is just one of thousands upon thousands upon thousands, as years go by, of child abductions across Europe. In 2016 over a thousand children in Britain went missing (most return home within a few hours) and 50 were abducted.

This is just part of the total ineptness of those Portuguese investigators which leads me to believe they are involved in Madeleine’s and that Portuguese girl from 2004’s abductions. And with them trying to pin it on the family both times... It’s all a bit too [in]conveniently inept with them.

You don’t believe the possibility of the parents doing it but believe the Portuguese Police did? That’s a new angle.
