Madeleine McCann

You don’t believe the possibility of the parents doing it but believe the Portuguese Police did? That’s a new angle.
Not that the Portuguese Police did it, they just know about the organised crime gang/paedophile ring which are most likely associated with organised crime and were covering their tracks for them.

The Police were absolutely terrible in their investigations from the moment they arrived. To the point of scandal IMO.

Have you seen the film The Whistleblower? Or know if the story behind it? Have you heard of those sick bastards at Oxfam who were involved in that paedophile ring in Haiti? don’t underestimate how high up this sort of thing can go or how seemingly helpful organisations can be behind them or covering them.

For that, you still have to assert evidence they killed her, albeit non-premeditated, and the evidence there is usually pieced together by unraveling the cover-up. So far, even with their desire to keep the case in the media, any cover up remains intact. That takes some balls and planning.
IF it's true then i think there has been some degree of planning involved, but mostly things have just fallen into place i.e. an incompetent police force in Portugal coupled with strong backing from PR and politicians, it was a perfect recipe. But like you say, we will never know and this could just be another missing child case that is heartbreaking, but also nothing out of the extraordinary.

I keep reading about them having powerful connections, is this true? If so who are their powerful friends?
Kate is a pal of Esther McVey and Gordon Brown appointed Gerry as an advisor to a panel looking at the risks of living near nuclear plants. It's also alleged that the Foreign Office ordered the local diplomatic staff to provide every assistance to the McCanns, even after some of those staff were very dubious about inconsistencies in the McCann's story and made this clear to the FCO.

Never knew about that.
I finished the docu and while I'm now unsure about whether they 'did it' or not I get the sense it was fairly pro McCann as stuff like that was never mentioned, or at least I didn't notice it

What were their main inconsistencies, or where would I find them?

I know very little about this case and have no particular desire to research it. The one thing I would say is that if the parents had done it, it would be a rather strange thing to do to insist on continual investigation for years on end when it could have been quietly left alone and they could have resumed their lives at little risk of ever being caught. It wouldn't make any sense to be so vocal all these years later.

Just binge watched 6/8 and so far am marginally more inclined towards their innocence than hitherto (which I believed they were in any event, on the balance of probabilities). There’s no way of being sure either way, of course; but you could say they about many such situations.

And anyone describing them as upper-middle class probably thinks Bez and Shaun Ryder are both toffs.

Just google ‘mccann theories inconsistencies’, mate.

I felt similar but watching the cadaver dogs back, I just can't get past that

I think it’s safe to say she’s no longer in the freezer in the apartment.
Cheers mate I think I gathered that one.
One thing I've heard that I don't think was covered in the doc was that they (Kate and Gerry) were given a key to the local church which was never searched and locked when not in use to pray.
Could they maybe have stored her body there? Most likely no but I haven't seen evidence to suggest she was kidnapped

Every day these poor parents have to live with the fact they left their little girl alone while they enjoyed themselves nearby.

They are living a daily death sentence I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

They are guilty of nothing more than selfishness and negligence and have paid the ultimate price.

I hope one day they find closure.

The only people I feel sorry for are Madeline, the twins and the people who got caught up in a witch-hunt such as Robert Murat and Sergey Malinka.

The parents left their children to get wasted, if I had kids that age I wouldn't leave them alone to go the local corner shop for 5 minutes nevermind in a foreign country, especially when there's a night crèche

Should've been prosecuted for neglect
