Maybe 5 or 6. It was just the way things were. They werent bad parents just busy. This was the mid seventies anyway.

What was shocking (For us) was the mums that would go on holiday and leave kids at home for the week.

I've lost a daughter mate. I hope you haven't lost a child. I certainly don't underestimate it and don't need someone else telling me what to feel.

My daughter died because of a consultant's and a hospitals's negligence but I still mentally beat myself up that I trusted them and we didn't refuse the action the consultant insisted on, that was contrary to established medical practice.

Let's be honest here; their daughter's disappearance (we don't know for sure she's dead) is materially down to their own negligence. The fact is that Madeleine would almost certainly still be alive and with them if they'd had a babysitter. That tweet is very brutal but it's true.

Exactly - mistakes. That isn’t a mistake what they did, it was a conscious decision to put their own needs first - that being booze and fucking tapas - and putting their kids in complete and unnecessary danger.

This is my problem with people's reaction to this case. Innocent until proven guilty. And secondly anyone who looks at the details of the case would logically rule them out. There is a mass of evidence in terms of the time line of events that clarifies they had no time or opportunity to dispose of a body unless of course all the witnesses were involved in some grand conspiracy with 10 or more people all lying to allow them to get away with the murder of a child.

They were obviously not involved and therefore you have to ask yourself does the level of negligence warrant having your child stolen by some peado and you being accused of it and vilified for the rest of your life. Not for me. I think they have suffered enough.
