Madeleine McCann

I guess their eternal punishment is why did we do that. It was their decision to leave them alone and they no doubt regret it.

Exactly right. If you do all you can to protect your kids but something still happens, you have done your bit.

If you don’t look after your kids and something happens, like leaving them alone whilst you get and drink wine and eat tapas somewhere else, well you have fucked up and these, in their circumstances, are the consequences.

I can’t begin to imagine how you process that when it is all down to you. Glad it isn’t me, but then I’d never have done that anyway.

These dogs are specially trained to identify the scrent of a dead body and also blood. Just like drug dogs are trained to detect drugs. They aren't 100% accurate but very close.

I'm genuinely surprised you and others on here haven't heard about them.
I have heard of them, although I’m no expert.

What I think I can lay claim to, however, is an ability to evaluate evidence, and some dogs going apeshit, without any meaningful corroborating evidence has no probative value whatsoever. You are relying upon worthless evidence to support your theories.

I'm not relying on anything, I just asked someone how they explained the multiple times two separate dogs identified blood and body scent in relation to her dissaparance. I know it's not admissible.

As far as I can see no one in relation to the actual case and certainly no one on here has been able to explain those results. By the way, the McCanns offered no explanation.

No one knows what happened to the poor little girl. What I do know is the McCanns are culpable in her dissaperance.

Re the cadaver dogs, to be fair to @Churchlawtonblue he is correct regarding the apartment and the hire car, and didn’t just pull it off a “shit website”. As I understand it, the dogs were brought over from the UK. I’m guessing that evidence alone isn’t close to being enough to assume the McCanns were involved and there would need to be additional evidence independent of that. Anyway, here’s the AI overview:

In the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the cadaver dog Eddie and the blood-detection dog Keela were used to search for scent at various locations, including the McCanns' apartment and rental car. Eddie, a specialist in detecting the odor of dead bodies, and Keela, trained to find human blood, alerted to certain areas, drawing attention to the possibility of Madeleine's death or involvement in her disappearance.

Elaboration:
  • Purpose of the Dogs:
Eddie and Keela were brought in to help determine what might have happened to Madeleine, specifically focusing on the presence of scent associated with her, either living or deceased.

  • Eddie's Role:
Eddie, a cadaver dog, was tasked with sniffing out the odor of a dead body, a crucial element in determining if Madeleine's body was present or if traces of her death were detectable.

  • Keela's Role:
Keela, a blood-detection dog, was tasked with identifying the presence of human blood, potentially indicating a possible injury or a crime scene.

  • Alerting Locations:
Both Eddie and Keela alerted in specific locations within the apartment and the rental car, including behind the sofa in apartment 5a and the car's interior.

  • Significance of the Alerts:
The alerts by both dogs, particularly the fact that they sometimes alerted in the same locations, raised questions about the possibility of Madeleine's involvement in her disappearance and the potential for her death to have occurred within or near the apartment or car.

  • The Debate:
The alerts and the subsequent evidence they generated sparked debate about the McCanns' involvement and the possible involvement of other individuals in Madeleine's disappearance.

Its admissibility isn’t the issue, so much as its lack of probative value even if it was admissible.

I agree with your last paragraph, however.

The dog stuff could be easily argued against and proves nothing. It was a rental car, anything could have happened in there by different people over the age of the car. It was also a rental appartment which again anything could have happened in there as well. It's almost not even worth mentioning

You’d be a touch unfortunate would you not, if both your rental car and apartment had had a dead body in them just before you turned up on holiday?
