It does beg the question that if Madeleine got onto the road by herself, was she hit by a car and disposed of, or was she abducted from there?
Seems more plausible her being taken from the road than someone breaking into an apartment and taking her from a room with 2 other sleeping kids

She was imprisoned and the media and public there had already thought she was as guilty as hell.
Only it turned out she wasn't and everything she had said about the night her baby went missing was correct.

I think there was some suggestion that it was known to the resort staff that the parents would be dining out of the apartment that night, and that the 3 children would be left sleeping. A note to this effect was left at reception I believe.
Anyone could have seen it.

The McCanns had an end apartment up a hill overlooking the tapas area, about 80yrds away.
But to get to the tapas area they would have to leave via the back patio door, down some steps, out a side gate onto a public road, carry on down the hill and through some gates to get back into the complex.
The front of the apartment (where the kids bedroom was) looked onto a secluded parking area.
This is where the McCanns were first telling family back home that someone had broke in, but there was absolutely no evidence of any break in there.

I think part of the issue here is the McCanns themselves.

Neither of them are likeable. They are both cold characters, especially him. No chance of me being part of the tapas nine if I’d met them on holiday, as I wouldn’t waste any of my holiday in the company of people that left me cold. There is definitely something off with both of them, but that doesn’t make them murderers.

I think this definitely plays in people’s minds, because they don’t invite empathy as much as other parents would in the same circumstances.

It’s not a criticism, as I’m guilty of it myself to some extent.

But I do think they’ve suffered enough.

I dunno, quite fancy the mum.

I think Germany will arrest that nonce for it the day before his release date and he will get charged. The trial will show evidence we havent heard and shouldnt have heard. They have done a very good job I think anyway.

I wouldn't say there's no chance of that happening, but I think there's probably a better chance of them finding Shergar and Lord Lucan.

As for doing 'a very good job', I've seen nothing whatsoever to suggest that the German police have done anything other than create a 'patsy', and desperately try to stop him leaving their country.

I wouldn’t refuse if it was my daughter gone missing if there was the slightest chance it was her despite what the police said.

I cannot understand why you would want DNA from Gerry, surely Kate's DNA would be better, there is a chance that Gerry is not her biological father? Not casting aspersions, but it is not impossible.

But she’s already alleged that she was a missing German girl and a girl missing from Utah so it sounds like she has mental health problems or is just a strange stalking person who likes the attention. So why would he have a DNA test?

I don’t know the back story Eccles but I do know a DNA test is a simple thing a swab of inside your mouth saliva that’s it. It would avoid going to court for Gerry and the girl in question who needs psychiatric treatment and a restraining order.

Only this morning II had notification I’m my daughters kith and kin.she’s doing her family tree.
The girl herself could do a DNA check to find her real family.

No I also don’t know why the trial is happening. It was just that I read she’s said she was two different missing girls. It seems having a test would look as if they gave her story credence.
