Madeleine McCann

K.reeves right foot seems to have put my thoughts across on this matter far better than I ever could!

Good post mate, and yes it is always good to have a rant lol!
I think that's what pisses me off more than anything are people (and not just people off here!) judging other people they have never met, whilst painting themselves as whiter than white at the same time!
People do stuff like this all the time when they are on hols, having family bbqs etc etc

Cheers mate, I think it's true people love to judge which is mainly a class issue [hence all the references to class in the thread], The difference in the MaCanns case was that they had access to resources [intellectual and monetry] to make sure the story stayed in the public domain. The only thing to question is the unconnected people who donated money and time to this cause after the event, would they have done the same to a child from a more humble background? The McCanns were merely utilising their resources to find their child. I'd like to think all decent people would do exactly the same.

I for one do NOT believe for one minute that the parents of Madeline Mcann killed their own child and then disposed of her body!
What they obviously did do is leave their three young children unattended whilst they ate a meal, and as a result lost a child to a child abductor (my opinion!)
They now have to live a daily nightmare (rightly or wrongly however you look at it?) as their punishment!
I also don't buy into this theory that just because they are deemed 'middle class' it makes it any different to if they we're council estate wallers...
it's not their fault they are doctors!
it's not their fault they live in a big house!
The national papers decide how they respond to such cases, and in my opinion, they chose correctly in making a big deal of the case (just as it should be if they come from a council estate in Leeds!)..
It is the fault of the papers if they (and inevitable they would probably do so?) slate the Mcanns if they we're from a council estate etc!!!

I just think it's a shame that people need to make up such vile bulllshit about the Mcanns, when in theory they don't know the full facts themselves!
I also believe the Portagese police are a shower of incompetent bastards who really did nothing to help solve this terrible incident and just made a complete hash of it if you ask me!

I personally don't care if people on this forum think they killed Maddie, everybody is entitled to their own opinion etc etc..I just really wish people would not jump to conclusions and just look at the bigger picture!

Rant over

Good rant.

As a parent I cannot even begin to imagine the horror they and Madeline have been through and to have some half witted internet warriors and conspiracy theorists that are not in possession of all the evidence claim they murdered their child is just plain wrong, in fact it isn't just wrong its sick. Personally, before making such an accusation I really would need to be presented with ALL of the facts and not some you tube clip or article.

They should not have left the kids unattended, I can see why they felt safe as they could see their villa and were eating a couple of hundred yards away but it was an error of judgement that shouldn't be punishable by being blamed for the abduction/murder of their child.

They were happy to abandon their kids and go on the piss then bewail the fact that Portugal didn't close the borders!
I can't believe their bare faced cheek in asking for more money for them to freeload around Europe on a wild goose chase.

They obviously didn't deserve what happened but they abandonded their responsibilities and god knows how they live with themselves now.

McCanns sign Madeleine book deal

The parents of Madeleine McCann have signed a deal to write a book about their daughter's disappearance.

Publisher Transworld has bought the rights to their story of how Madeleine disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal and their efforts to find her.

Madeleine, of Rothley, Leicestershire, was nearly four when she vanished in Praia da Luz, Algarve, in May 2007.

All proceeds from the book will go to the fund to look for Madeleine, which has been at risk of running out.

The official Portuguese inquiry into Madeleine's disappearance formally ceased in July 2008, but private detectives employed by the McCanns have continued the search for the missing child.

The book, entitled Madeleine, will be published on April 28 next year to coincide with the fourth anniversary of her disappearance.

Kate McCann, 42, said: "My reason for writing is simple - to give an account of the truth.

"Publishing this book has been a very difficult decision and is one that we have taken after much deliberation and with a very heavy heart.

"However, in the last few months, with the depletion of Madeleine's Fund, it is a decision that has virtually been taken out of our hands.

"Every penny we raise through its sales will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important to us than finding our little girl."

Mr McCann, also 42, added the couple were hopeful the book may help the investigation to find Madeleine in other ways too.

"Our hope is that it may prompt those who have relevant information - knowingly or not - to come forward and share it with our team. Somebody holds that key piece of the jigsaw," he said.

Transworld has acquired the rights to publish the book in the UK, Commonwealth countries and Europe.

It is being written by the McCanns themselves and is currently part-complete.

So glad the record will finally be set straight.

Re: Maddie McCann Found

The little girl in question is supposed to have been found in India, her the "parents" she was with have had their passports confiscated pending the DNA tests.
