Fair do's mate probably not a bad stance to have on the subject..

I still wish people would give more to kids charities at home and abroad though without being prompted by 24 hr wall to wall media mind.

Some of us already do. And also have bequests in their will to the NSPCC.

It doesn't need a case like this if you feel strongly enough, or it shouldn't anyway.
That's my point Macka. The plebs sending links on Facebook urging money into the Maddie fund, thinking they have done their bit for society once they've done that. If you only give due to pressure and media attention then I think it's very sad.

Agreed.
Unfortunately this country now has knee jerk reaction to the 24/7 flavour of the month, whether it be Maddie or whoever. Then it passes until the next cause célèbre.
Pisses me off big time.

Eh?

What do you mean?

Is this yet another thread that lends itself to trial by Internet, based on rumour and suchlike?
I hope not.

You said "They knew they screwed up that night" despite it not being the first time they had done it(there own admission), so it wasnt a one off night where they left all 3 children alone.
I happen to think they should of been arrested for what they did anyway as i would be if i did the same but thats neither here nor there.
Im not giving thema trial by internet i just think they get very favourable media for a pair of half wits

I don't think they have ever said they left the children alone before?
When did they say that?
Very favourable media? Yes, perhaps at the start. Yet it turned very quickly into a witch hunt for the very same reasons that people liked them for at the beginning; their faith, their media friendly image, their cute little daughter.
Then It turned into the usual English media backlash that turns on the average reader/punter and sells shit papers.

It's in that Maddie book McCann wrote. The night before Maddie went "missing" she thought someone had been in the apartment so that made her check more frequently the next night...not enough for them to not sod off out mind.

tbh i really think the poor girls dead now, my opinion she was either taken for a cash deal to pass on to a childless couple or by a pedo gang most def the later she'l be dead if it was the first i dont see much chance either with the childs eye being a mark the whole of europe would notice, i did suspect the parents at first like a lot of people but now i think there inocent but not squeeky clean there is somthing about them both i cant put my finger on

Don't think I'd go as far as say they were in a peado ring but I just can't look past the parents on this one. Too many things just do no add up. Every single thing they did upon "discovering" she was missing just doesn't fit what a normal worried parent would do. You don't delay informing people, you don't contaminate the evidence, you don't keep changing your story to the police and you certainly don't leave 3 children alone in a hotel in a foreign country to start with.

I agree with this - someone with nothing to hide wouldnt wait 40 mins to phone the police, 40 seconds yes but not 40 mins... it doesnt add up, as for why they havent been charged - no body no crime...

The other thing i find weird is that most people abroad in places like Portugal take their children with them at night, its warm enough for babies to sleep and toddlers and above run around playing, until they are partied out...

Just a thought, Gemma Wilkinson had her kid abducted by the father, whisked off to dontgiveashitstan, is alive (by all accounts) and the wanker in prison refuses to give her whereabouts.

why is this not fucking global news ?

That little girl is probably dead, and I think her parents know too. I believe a terrible accident occurred, the McCanns discovered it and covered it up. It will haunt them for the rest of their lives if true.

FFS I just got a board warning for repeating what is in a documentary which is available world wide on the internet regarding this case?

MODs you are becoming too trigger happy or is it some attempt to eventually ban me? Everything I have said in this topic has been said by others and is easily found on the internet.

The last point is one I can't get my head around. Most european countries allow children access to anywhere their parents want to take them. I got back from Ibiza today and even though my kids are 15 and 16, they were with us all the time and even though they had their own room next but one to ours, me and the mrs were constantly checking they were ok.

Surely if you thought someone had tried to kidnap your children the previous night, you'd be a little more diligent the night immediately after?

Well you'd think so wouldn't you.

Until they find her (Dead or alive) this will always be a Lord Lucanesque scenario.

There is a disparity between the coverage this little girl has (I can understand how the parents would want this) to the many hundreds of children that go missing in the UK each year.

swp's back has been 100% correct in this thread IMO, just read through.

i also agree with this below, who in the flying fuck sedates their kids and fucks off out in a foreign country!?

Plenty of kids go missing everyday, i dont see large scale international operations to find them.

£2 mil a year it has cost so far but her father went to school with Cameron or one of the posh guys leading so that helps.

couldn't give a flying fuck how much its costing , I hope they continue to look for this girl or understand how it happened forever

the point is mate, there's a hell of a lot going on in this world which is shocking and could use spending.

whens the point where you stop seaching? there's other kids who are definitely 100% still alive but will starve to death if not helped.

maddie's a lost cause tragically.

Understand how it happens.....?
The Mcacanns hide more than they tell
They protest to much
Leave 3 small children alone, no normal parent would ever do this, they are not normal, let them live with what happened , scousers, never trust them

Oh they were more diligent, in her words, it caused them to "check on the kids more frequently" the following night (the night Maddie went missing). Seems perfectly reasonable to me :/
