I'll have to disagree on the pickpockets.I thought the view was ok, I’m still out, just left a dance music club. 6.10am. I like this city, it’s got class. Impeccably clean streets, no pick pockets or fat Nigerian prossies. It a good gaff
Our experience was mainly positive. Had a nice day in many different areas of Madrid and met up with plenty of blues. Lovely clean city and easy to get around, nice bars and cafes. No bother from anyone. Got to the ground as the city bus arrived and faced airport levels of security! The ‘friendly’ police were in full riot gear to welcome us and the stewards were seemingly looking for any excuse to refuse entry to the match to any blues. What can best be described as a ‘birds eye view’ for £52 was worth every penny but only given the result! Thought our fans were superb, backed the lads 100% and made plenty of noise throughout. Held back for maybe 1/2 hr but that passed pleasantly enough with a good sing song! Made for an easy walk back to the metro and in a nice cafe for bite to eat by midnight. Flight home this morning. Let’s finish the job in 3 weeks.Cracking trip.
Another iconic stadium with shite facilities.
Getting in was terrible.I arrived an hour before kick off and there was fans getting crushed.Would hate to have been in line when the late arrivals got there.
Saw a couple of fans turned away.
Good view of game. Our fans on top of their game.Had a lot worse getting kept backs as well.Made the metro journey back a lot easier.
Cheap beer in a cafe across from stadium.
Now if they could only sort out the getting into the ground I would be more than happy going back.
I'll have to disagree on the pickpockets.
Someone dipped my pocket before the game, by the ground.
My ticket was in my wallet, so no game for me, theiving bastards!!
I got done too. Was in the queue for away end so i had already took my ticket out at least but lost about 90 euro.
Did you do a police report or anything? They seemed to catch 2 women straight away in the act so you would think they would have still had something on them but they told me I had to report it at the central station - which i did after game but wasn't filled with confidence that they are actually going to communicate with each other...
Agree with the point about the number of dogs having gone through a ridulas amount of security checks why on earth did they need any dogs at all in the away end bafflingCracking trip, although at one point I thought I was at Crufts with the amount of dogs the Police had on display.
Beer, Tapas and sun......oh and a game, what's not to like?
standard attitude with power mad ****s in uniformRe Dogs and searches: i got searched coming out of the toilet at ht couldnt understand why so asked him when he had finished he just stared right through me and shouted move. Really dont understand their attitude especially as the locals are so friendly and welcoming.
Franco's finest shit house police force have no clue how to handle large numbers of away fans, as there is simply no away fan culture in Spain. You're treated and handled as if you are on some kind of anti-government protest march. Tooled up, wearing balaclava's, threatening personal injury for daring to look in their direction. Row upon row of them on every concourse, stairwell, block entrance. Dogs, guns, batons, pepper spray.
They were gagging to get stuck in and it was only down to the exemplary behaviour of Blues that it didn't kick off. Having said that, my mate is currently nursing 3 baton bruises after being knocked to the ground for failing to move on through one of the security checks and not putting his passport away quickly enough. Even a steward got a good dig in, as he had his own baton. WTF? 67 year old bloke getting whacked for no good reason - nice. Also witnessed a dad and lad getting baton whipped for stopping outside Spiral C on the way out, while waiting for the lads aunty.
They turn a joyful match going experience into a visit to a police state. Why the flying fuck should we be "relieved" to get out of a match without the police kicking off?
So, fuck 'em. Utter bastards. Treating City supporters like fucking cattle whilst the GMP will welcome their fans with a tickle and a cheeky northern smile.
Thanks for listening.
I caught a guy with his hand in my pocket in a bar outside the stadium. Little rat scuttled off quick as a flash as ran after him shouting THIEF. Wish I'd caught himI'll have to disagree on the pickpockets.

If they were going to pass your details on then they should be telling you to whom and why otherwise it breaches GDPR.Now it has all quietened down and most of us are home I will ask why City wanted all the details of me, including my d.o.b. and my travel plans, further had I submitted them who would they have passed them onto ? I am not that clued up on Data Protection especially in relation to Europe but were the club passing them to the Madrid fascista cops ?
It is a scary world out there and whilst I am not that paranoid to think my support for Pep and the Catalans would get me hit over the head with a baton, I do not want my details flying around Europe.
