Not perfect then
More that there wasn't an angle to be honest if it's the cross I'm thinking of. It was a great cross, but none could catch up to it. Certainly gave them Spuds something to think about though!

Great delivery from Maicon without a doubt but perfect bit ott
True. I was smiling ear to ear though after that cross as you could see the Spud defenders visibly drop their shoulders. His threat out there allowed Silva to play more centrally too and that paid off as well.

Spot on pal and his runs will mentally and physically tire opponent, his crosses will worry any team. Maicon could end up being the buy of the season.

I was very impressed with Maicon today.

When he came on, I thought he would go into the bach three and Zaba would be the wing-back.

But RM got it spot-on and Maicon's introduction changed the game.

I remember seeing him playing for Inter just after HH Sheikh Mansour bought the club. I was really impressed with him and thought how great it would be to have him at City, but thought it would never happen, considering where we were and where he was at the time.

Needless to say, I am delighted he is now a City player.

We are in danger of going a bit ott here.

He had a very good game, but Spurs were very much on the back foot.

Some fans seem to think that all that matters in football is pace, but the best team in world football is Barcelona, and the most important feature of their game is technique and passing. That's what I think Maicon can give us. Composure in the final third.

We have to see now what he's like defending when a tricky winger is running at him. No good if he can do one but not the other.

I didn't see Bale get much change out of him and Zaba this afternoon. And there are few in the Premier League who are better than Bale.

maicon is a very good defender mate , a lot better than how people seem to credit him to be.

let him be match fit and you'll see

I think a wingback spot for him is the best...he did what kolarov didnt manage to do all game and thats isolate their full back and get the ball in. Actually i was shouting for the ball to be switched to him as he pressed forward into great positions totally unmarked. It will be different against teams that sit back all game though.

I thought he might play today but thought he wont be match-fit and a re-introduction against Bale might not be the best idea, but he did very well

From what I have seen you were right about Maicon, but it's just a start. At least he will have a confidence boost and wont have to win his team mates and fans around. They will all be onside now, where they all should have been in the first place

It's the first time today that the 3-5-2 was use effectively and with Maicon fully fit now we'll look so dangerous going forward as well as counter attacking. I must say I shit it a bit when he gave away the ball to Bale with his first touch but after that he as magnificent.

Shame on you

-- Sun Nov 11, 2012 10:31 pm --
