Maicon

Tracking back Maicon might not have the legs anymore, but to play as a right-winger with Pab Zab behind him is what i'd like to see.

Turn him into a winger, he gave us width and something different what we haven't had for ages.

Maicon did in 18 minutes today, what we were egging Johnson on to do the last 14 months. I'm excited to possibly see Maicon used more forward now instead.

Every ball he whipped in was scarily awesome. I was mighty impressed by him today and I hope he gets a chance to play like that again. Defensively he had cock all to do though.

For those who have been banging on about needing to have a different style of play for when we can't pass through defences- picture Maicon whipping those balls in from the right, Kolarovs from the left and Dzeko in the middle to get on the end of them!

To be honest, the quality of Maicon's crosses makes Kolarov look poor.

Good to see the Maicon of old popping up. His runs and crosses were a real danger.

-- Sun Nov 11, 2012 11:22 pm --

Must admit when he came on looking a bit portly and with his previous with Bale,I and I think quite a few people around me got a bit nervous.
Very brave move from Mancini and he should get a lot of credit for it.
Crosses of that quality are something we've desperately lacked.

Wonder if he can take a corner ?

Given that Kolarov's corners barely make it to the near post, he can hardly be any worse.

crying shame no forward got on the end of his absolutely perfect ground crosses. split the defense so well with the ball and at such a pace anyone could have scored with a single toe

Reckon he was held back a little after his injury to give him as much time as possible to settle in.

Brave and brilliant from Mancini to trust him up against Bale again after last time. Hopefully that was the last we'll hear of that.

Loved it when he beat Bale in a foot race.

Always been a huge Maicon fan - he will be a big favourite before he's done with City...

More that there wasn't an angle to be honest if it's the cross I'm thinking of. It was a great cross, but none could catch up to it. Certainly gave them Spuds something to think about though!
