No. I'm using it as an example to show what he still has to offer going forward. Even in the little time he was on the pitch for us you can see that he's a more gifted attacking player than any of our other fullbacks. He could've been a valuable asset to break down banks of 10, but we badly misused him.

Find me another fullback in the prem with this technique:

Baines and Kolarov.
Completely disagree.

Did Danny Mills keep Dani Alves out of the Brazil team for 6 years?

Did Danny Mills win a treble?

Was Danny Mills a world class player?

Ahhhh it must actually be Maicon, good luck in Italy mate!

In answer to the questions no but not good enough anymore and doesn't suit Prem as he can't defend!!

Taxi
Mate you compared him to Mills, says everything about your in depth knowledge of the player.

His defending with us was fine. He seemed to keep Ronaldo pretty quiet for 75 minutes at the Bernebau before Zab came on and we conceded 2 down that side. Name me some goals that Maicon has been directly responsible for in his time here and I'll be inclined to debate this.

I don't dislike Maicon, actually think he is a good player. Not to fussed if he were to stay (good cover) or leave (get off the wage bill and maybe a small transfer fee)

He was at fault for Benzema goal in the champs league game at home. Just let his man run.

Twatting the ball from range doesn't equate to good technique.

Baines is a good set piece man. Doesn't have the ability to do a lot of the things Maicon can do in play, imo.

a gamble that didnt pay off.....it happens

summed up nicely.

Shame he never managed to get himself fit enough for a run of games, was carrying far too much timber.

Confirmed to Roma.

Good riddance.

Sad that someone would feel like this.

Joining us just didn't work out,but there was nothing to dislike about the guy, things just didn't go his way.

Certainly not a signing to remember, but not one to sneer at either.

I will be surprised (pleasantly) if we get a fee. From what I can tell, the 5million euro thing was mistranslated... from what I could make out, the sourced article was talking about his City wages of 5million euros per year (£90,000/week) rather than a transfer fee. Di Marzio has not mentioned any fee yet, maybe there will be some clarification.
