Mate you compared him to Mills, says everything about your in depth knowledge of the player.

His defending with us was fine. He seemed to keep Ronaldo pretty quiet for 75 minutes at the Bernebau before Zab came on and we conceded 2 down that side. Name me some goals that Maicon has been directly responsible for in his time here and I'll be inclined to debate this.

I didn't compare his overall play to Mills I was saying that just because he scored a worldie it doesn't make him a good player.

As for debating his defending he made 11 appearances mate and half of them were from the bench hardly much to debate.

He was a good player in his day, past it now and costing us a fortune. Good luck and good riddance.

A fully fit Maicon has proven himself as world class and a level above both Micah and Zab too. Too many people think Maicon and think of the Spurs game against Bale (when he wasn't even fit). He was never given a chance to prove himself here.

It's highly disrespectful from a lot of our fans on here that put him in the same bracket as Scott Sinclair.

I wish him luck at Roma.

Which is why Dani Alves couldn't get him out of the Brazil team till the back end of 2011? He was class for Inter at the end of the season before we bought him, I remember him scoring this in the derby:

I'm not surprised someone would give us money for him. He's still a top player.

Indeed.

Baines.....sorts out the left back problem and the set piece problem.
Ibra.....if we can get him then do it.....

If we signed no one else, these two would do me.

No chance we are going to sign Baines unless Clichy is leaving.

As for the players we need, Jovetic I would argue can be counted as one of the strikers we need, the left winger/attacker and also set piece taker.

Negredo could be the other striker and I hope we can pick up a LB to be cover for Clichy.

Glad he's going and was a stupid buy taking his wages/age into account.

However I'm astonished by the number of people on here who won't acknowledge that he clearly was a world class player, it's almost as bad as all those turning their noses up at Ibrahimovic! He's clearly suffering from 'had a bad game on ITV syndrome'.
