Main Rivals - Chelsea or United?

That was the last stand from Chelsea, they will take a while to rebuild.
Look at the league table, Wigan were closer to them in points than they were to us.

United were bang there without one of their best players, and if Taggart hadn't gotten his derby tactics wrong they would have been champions. United will be the main challengers but I honestly think we'll kick on now and win it by 10points next year.
 
Tough one to call. Both need strengthening, Chelsea have the spending power with an added bonus of being European Champions. The rags have the Manager. I say the rags, but depends how the new Chelsea signings bed in.
 
I don't think that Chelsea side is that good, they've just rode their luck in the Champs League.

I'm not even convinced Di Matteo is that good a manager.

Our main rivals are Barcelona,Real Madrid, Bayern and maybe AC Milan.
 
ManUre definitely are our main rivals. Chelsea have some major rebuilding to do. Not taking away what they did today. But time and luck just met them at the right place.
 
Rags

Chelsea weren't that good under DiMateo in the league, win rate was similar to AVB. The old timers went all guts and glory for the European Championship and they seemed to have fate on their side as well.

Covers up a lot of cracks and rot under the facade, I think they could struggle badly next year. Ambramovich's money can always rebuild but he is so impatient I'm not sure he could pull it together again. Plus FFP will hit them at a bad time if it actually has any teeth.

Rags have a lot more depth and a good load of young players in their system. So I would expect they'll continue to dog us.
 
We have a title and financial might to attract big names and Chelsea have a CL and the money as well. City/Chelsea will replace Utd/ Arsenal.
 
Chelsea will be they already have 2 good signings in marin and de brune (spl) Roman will get rid of rdm and get somebody top notch imo. They aren't far off being a top team ffs they were second a year ago under Ancelotti a few good signings and they will challenge for the title no doubt. Rdm i have to take my hat off to him he delivered the champions league but hand on heart i cant see chelsea going for the title with him, they rid there luck in a big way and everyone saw the negative football they played especially in euorpe imo Roman will want more than that especially now they are champions. I have a feeling the dortmund coach will be the next manager at the bridge. He has back to back titles and a few of his players are moving on because they didn't like the offers the club gave them, time for a new challenge and a bumper payday i reckon
