Main Rivals - Chelsea or United?

That was the last stand from Chelsea, they will take a while to rebuild.
Look at the league table, Wigan were closer to them in points than they were to us.

United were bang there without one of their best players, and if Taggart hadn't gotten his derby tactics wrong they would have been champions. United will be the main challengers but I honestly think we'll kick on now and win it by 10points next year.

rags will find it hard to compete in all competition, they will struggles with a critical shortage in quality and thin squad they have at the moment, defence is leaky with or without vidic still shaky, rafael & jonse prone to basic amateurish mistake.

who's going to socre beside rooney? what if he injured!? I can't see welbeck or pees bag 20 goals a season.

oh we will watch closely the men in black with a whistle from week1...ezz very important

Chelsea for me

Still United, only goal difference separated us this year,Chelsea will probably lose Drogba, while Torres is improving and starting to look like the striker of old he still can't be trusted fully to be drogbas regular replacement,so i would think this time next year the top two will be the same.

Chelsea need to replace half their team with Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cole all the wrong side of 30. AVB tried to make the changes and was forced out. The CL results will probably ensure that the changes will not be made for the next season at least.

Arsenal will probably lose RVP and will decline as a result. Spurs will lose Modric following their failure to make the CL for next season. Liverpool and Everton will not challenge.

That leaves United! City will win.

Next season? Probably United. But this CL win means Chelsea are back in the CL. Which is a huge boost because they would have missed out otherwise.

Bad news for Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool....Chelsea are gonna start rebuilding now and can see them finishing top 3 next season. And challenge for the title soon enough. But not sure if they can challenge us next season especially when we will improve. So United.

Until the inevitable drop down the table / leagues comes to United they will be our main rivals, I do see a time when It will be us and Chelsea fighting for everything, winning the C/L will inspire RA to re-invest and that will be the end for United as genuine contenders, Arsenal have the cash to stay close but will they spent it ?? don't know don't care, it's all about us now.

Rags all day long. Chelsea have to replace most of the squad Lampard,Terry,Drogba,Malouda,Ferreira that's the core of there team. Replacing players like that is going to be really hard a 20 goal a season Midfielder like Frank. A defender who's been as solid as Terry has been and then a striker (ok not scored loads this year) as good as Drogba wow u must be talking Falco/Cavani then they'll need to settle. Then the most important thing is they have to claw back the 25 points they finished behind us :)

However, when playing utd you need to respect their history and romance, oh and their big crowds too.
I agree with this. Don't underestimate the effect of playing in front of 76,000 "each week" even when you are away at Wigan, QPR and Swansea.

It's amazing what the effect of the noise of dentures on prawns has in raising a players game.

Rags without a doubt. Chelsea have some serious rebuilding to do and it will be interesting to see how much of a fuck Roman gives about FFP?

Twatini will choke on his cornflakes should Roman give him and his rules a huge big fuck off and in my opinion, he will.

I think Chelsea will spend a lot of money this Summer freshening up their team and will challenge for the title next season.

I can see Arsenal finishing fourth but closer to the top than this season. I can see United finishing third, within about six points of the top. And I can see City and Chelsea scrapping for the points and possibly goal difference for the title.
