Main Rivals - Chelsea or United?

That was the last stand from Chelsea, they will take a while to rebuild.
Look at the league table, Wigan were closer to them in points than they were to us.

United were bang there without one of their best players, and if Taggart hadn't gotten his derby tactics wrong they would have been champions. United will be the main challengers but I honestly think we'll kick on now and win it by 10points next year.
What bollocks that is. If Ferguson had tried attacking us they would have been annihilated.

Rags without a doubt. Chelsea have some serious rebuilding to do and it will be interesting to see how much of a fuck Roman gives about FFP?

Twatini will choke on his cornflakes should Roman give him and his rules a huge big fuck off and in my opinion, he will.
Winning the FA Cup wins you about £5m, finishing fifth earns you about £7m and winning the European Cup wins you about £35m. They've also won a lot of trophies in recent years too (Prem title is about £20m prize money). This is without any profits the club makes in tickets and merchandise.

Chelsea will be able to spend well this Summer.

However, when playing utd you need to respect their history and romance, oh and their big crowds too.
I agree with this. Don't underestimate the effect of playing in front of 76,000 "each week" even when you are away at Wigan, QPR and Swansea.
That's also why Utd had the best homne record last season, going unbeaten in the League & League Cup, I wish we could compete.

Rags all day long. Chelsea have to replace most of the squad Lampard,Terry,Drogba,Malouda,Ferreira that's the core of there team. Replacing players like that is going to be really hard a 20 goal a season Midfielder like Frank. A defender who's been as solid as Terry has been and then a striker (ok not scored loads this year) as good as Drogba wow u must be talking Falco/Cavani then they'll need to settle. Then the most important thing is they have to claw back the 25 points they finished behind us :)
Chelsea wont need to replace Lampard Terry Malouda (Ferreira hardly plays) and Cole, as others have suggested as he is still absolutely class, because they're going nowhere. They may only lose Drogba and they already have his replacement. They will freshen up their team a little but most of those players will still be the core of the team.

Swiss ramble says Chelsea earnt £27M from the CL last year and winning it gives £33M this year, a £6M difference. The FA cup is worth next to nothing £5M. They made an £80M loss last season (without factoring in the Luiz and Torres transfers (£80m) and need to replace half of their first team.

I don't think "spend well" is quite the right term if they wish to go anywhere near FFP break even.

It doesn't matter. We were excellent this year and with 3 first rate additions no **** will be getting near us.

I see us blowing the premiership away big style. 100 points style.

You don't need to break even with FFPR. That is not one of the rules. It merely states that you must have things in place to be working towards making money. We had over £100m losses last season and we'll still spend this Summer.

Really impressed with Chelsea towards the latter end of the season, if they keep their manager they maybe a big threat next season but certain major players of theirs are getting towards the end of their careers so maybe in transitional stage after 2013.
Man Utd can't compete in the transfer market so IMO Man City will become the most succesful team in the league for many seasons to come.

I respect Chelsea so I hate to think of them as rivals.

They made me and many of my City mates smile when they took the CL title away from the eyes and hands of Munich's pathetic club president, who let's not forget was extremely nasty with his remarks about City as a football club. It also makes me smile knowing that United fans, who have blasted City and Chelsea for ages, now have to live with the fact these two blue clubs won two important trophies while they won nothing.

United is and always will be our biggest rivals. But their era is hopefully coming to an end and they will decline to the same fate that has sealed Liverpool football club, once Ferguson retires.

Winning the title in Fergie time was spectacular. I'm hungry for a City vs. United champions league final.
