Did you ever walk past a place called Culvers Car Mart? I ask because my stepfather was appointed general manager of it. That's what brought us north in the first place.
Where was it, bud?

Id imagine it wasnt the only club of its time with dodgy acts. A circuit that has all but gone but was very popular in social, working mens clubs etc. Remember the posters advertising upcoming acts, many of whom appeared to wear sparkly jackets and market themselves as "fabulous comedy vocal" etcSome of the acts on were truly shyte.
Goodison is a prime exampleI have an affinity for shit old grounds built in the middle of rows and rows of red brick terraced houses. They have a buzz around them that modern stadia will never replicate. But the fact is that if we still had such a ground we would be desperate to move as the world has moved on.
Jesus, I'd like to be able to tell you, but it's fifty years back! It was in Rusholme, I know that much.Where was it, bud?
