Making a Murderer Part 2

On a separate note, something else that's been bugging me is why it took 3 days since Teresa was last seen to report her missing. It was her mum that reported her missing and I'm in no way suggesting anything untoward on her part but why wasn't the alarm raised by Teresa's flatmate earlier?

The family struck me as a bit weird.
Her home video when questioned what she loved, she said her sisters almost instantly, took a bit more time to say her whole family.
3 days for her mother to report her missing shows she wasnt in everyday contact with any member of her family at the time.
It appeared Mike did a lot of talking for the family which was strange with him being the younger brother. I would have expected an elder to take on the role.
Mikes close link to Hillegas and voicemail tampering.
The family can't be happy that the police have got the correct person in this case surely...

That's exactly what I'm suggesting, yes. The witness claims to have reported the sighting of the Rav 4 to that dodgy fucker Colborn on the 4th. At what time I don't know but the flyover of the Avery property on the 4th wasn't able to pick out the Rav 4, yet miraculously on the morning of the 5th it was found within half an hour of the search starting.

I watched the rest of the series last night and that witness is probably the least credible guy in the entire series. He went to school with Barb Janda and took 12 years to say anything to Avery’s attorneys. I wouldn’t chalk him down as anything other than a random guy who enjoyed Making a Murderer and believes Avery’s innocent. Plus, if it was parked suspiciously by the road like that, and there were signs up everywhere about the Rav 4 and possibly local and national media driving up that road, I reckon you’d have lots of witnesses claiming they’d seen the car given how high profile the case was. The idea that the police planted the car given the circumstances it was found (plus with the help of Ryan Hillegas!) isn’t believable imo.

Do you believe their police force had nothing to do with it all?

They might have planted 1 or 2 pieces of evidences because they believed he was guilty (such as the key) although I would say that’s not proven, but they didn’t plant all of the evidence or anywhere near all the evidence. If Avery was framed, he would have had to been framed by not just the police but the killer, credible eyewitnesses, forensics, the telephone records, Brendon, Bobby, Autotrader, Dawn Plitska plus the evidence he provided to the police himself.

Oh, I don't disagree that the Rav 4 being parked up there might've been spotted by others but remember Teresa wasn't reported missing until 3rd November - I think it was around teatime on that day - and it was either that date or the day after that the witness reported seeing it. Before 3rd November and before anyone reported her missing it could've been there all week and no-one would've thought it untoward.

Do you not think it odd that it was found on Avery's land so quickly after the search started on the 5th when you consider we're talking about 40 acres of land and thousands of vehicles? It wouldn't have to be the police themselves who planted it either - they could've gotten one of a number of people to do it.

It really doesn't need that many people to be in on it. I also find it quite astonishing that you appear to imply that it's in any way acceptable that they might've planted some of the evidence. And if you think they planted 1 or 2 pieces of evidence, what makes you think that they didn't stop there?

Well he was framed pretty good first time round wasn't he with little or no evidence. Same police department that done him again, when they had that pay out on the horizon I am pretty sure they would have done anything necessary to stop it. They happily had Avery locked up first time round when they knew who the killer was, there's £36 million reasons why they'd happily do it again but even harder. The fact it took them days to apparently find a key that just on the floor in his trailer says it all, didn't even make the effort to hide it.

Avery was set for a windfall that would see him and his family set for life. There isn't one logical explanation behind why he would risk that to kill an absolute randomer. Zero motive.

Scott Tadych (assuming he was the killer) would have suspected she could have been reported missing at any time so I doubt he would have left her car visible from the main road and next to his house.

It depends on what path she took. If she walked straight down the main path without turning towards Avery’s trailer then I would say no it wasn’t quick. But even if she did have prior intelligence around where it might be, that doesn’t mean the police planted it. Maybe they seen a suspicious looking vehicle on the helicopter search and told Pam Sturm to head towards it? Maybe they illegally entered Avery’s land in the middle of the night and knew it was there? Maybe they told her to walk towards the crusher? Maybe she just got lucky? There’s a million and one more plausible reasons why it could have been found in 30 minutes that doesn’t require the police to have planted the car there.

But none of it makes you question it no? You have already admitted that some evidence might have been planted which clearly says it all. Dodgy as anything.
