There's a house we really like (bricks and mortar, location etc) but is quite tired and needs a fair bit of work. Houses on the same street sold in the past few years for 20/30k less in much better condition, so cant really work out how the estate agent has reached the figure he has. Reckons we could get it for 10k under asking. I'm wondering if people think house sellers are just chancing their arm at the minute with the stamp duty holiday and over pricing? Others in a similar bracket have all been reduced in the past few weeks. Unsure at the minute whether to go quite a fair bit over budget and get a house that needs no work or to sit out and see if this one gets reduced enough that ive got the cash to do the work on it.
