Whenever I hear some fool in the media/wider football world saying that Manchester City have no history, the legacy of just this one great man gives that crude statement the contempt it deserves. Rest well mate.

This, very well put 3HT. RIP Big Mal

May you rest in peace and my deepest condolences to your family whilst the rest your greater blue family remember the dizzy heights you and Joe gave our great club.

RIP

My events of today pale into insignificance with this news.

R.I.P big Mal I don,t smoke but I'll toast one for you.

See you on the other side blue!

I'm a songwriter by trade. I was trying to think of a song that truly encapsulates Big Mal and this is it. A cover of a masterpiece by the genius American folksinger Phil Ochs.

What a top bloke - really shoved it up the rags a***s' put them in their place, shows they haven't changed in their cock-headidness, we keep bouncing back and now is our time and our opportunity.

The next trophy is for Big Mal and Joe - shove it up the reds ar**s

What goes round comes round

When we win the first trophy (hopefuly the league) they will weep forever!

Goodbye Mal

RIP Big Mal. A trophy this year would be the best tribute, along with a statue. Come on, blue boys. I was a toddler in '68 but was there in '74 and '76 with my dad. Semi final and final replay in '81 with my mates. All the dark years in the 80's and 90's. Wembley '99. CTID. This is a poignant moment in our history. I just hope the media pay due credit to his coaching ability.

Very sad news. RIP Big fella, larger than life character sadly missing from football today. I doubt we'll see the likes of Malcolm and his ilk again. Gone but never forgotten.
