Man City vs Reading - Post Match Discussion

Believe me unlikely, I know all about how wank we were, think a few either need to go to ragcafe or give there heads a shake, as I'm so grateful for where we are and what we have now, that the negativity on here sometimes borders on ignorance.
Posts like this are utter bollocks.

Watching Ged Brannan or Jeff Whitley having a shit game was fair enough as they were both shit. Watching Yaya ambling around doing fuck all is open to criticism as we all know what he is capable of.

Its not ignorance just raised expectations.

Considering we were without

Richards
Maicon
Clichy
Kolarov
Nasri
Rodwell
Balotelli
Guidetti

And

Kompany
Milner
Garcia
And arguably Silva, Yaya and Aguero are carrying knocks, the Reading siege mentality and tricky pitch all made for a potential banana skin that we just just avoided.
We will have to expect these tactics until such a time as we punish the teams that try them.

Just back from the game, it was one of those days but the 3 points are 3 points.

Some were saying 5 or 6 before the game but knew it would be tough with them scrapping for their lives. We played well first half and we just needed that first goal to go in and I reckon we would have had a decent win. The longer the game went, the more frustrating it become. Reading clearly came with a gameplan and it nearly worked although their time wasting was really annoying.

Wish we would have a shot though instead of our tendancy to try and walk the ball in.

Not going to win every game comfortably but tonight I'm a happy blue as we should all be!!

A team that has picked up 2 points away from home all season is now a potential banana skin for us at home?

It's a good job football is not played on paper

Just one of those games although forwards need to be a bit more ruthless couple of times sergio had ball with back to goal instead of talking a chance he'd lay it off and he isn't the only one guilty of it. Rekik played well I was worried at the start having 2 young ones on the left of defence. Saying that I told my mate after 20 minutes we should have took him off for a forward as he could have put up a deck chair and read a book the amount of times reading came past the half way line.

For claiming it wasn't awful?

Laughing out fucking loud at that!

There's no context anymore for some people. I know what an awful performance looks like, I've been watching City for over 20 years, that was not one.

Any game that you comprehensively dominate possession, produce 10 shots on target to their one and deservedly bag 3 points, cannot, by any logical mind be proclaimed to be an awful performance. Like I already said, hyperbole and exaggeration are off the charts again.

Now shove the specs up your arse (linked from the sun no less)

we were dire, the team selection was dire. ok not helped by reading timewasting etc or in fact a barmy ref but we have world beaters in our team and we were as flat as fuck.

we need fucking pace, not just in a player but in our mindset.

very lucky today.

This was absolutely the game to go 3 at the back - if only Clichy / Maicon / Kolarov had been available . If you can't go through 'em - go round'em!

i refuse to believe, that anyone that was there today, thought we played well.

not dire, not great, but far below par.
