There was a guy sat a few seats from me who muttered "I'm bored watching this" in the second half, which made me smile thinking back to some of the shit games under people like Pearce. We've come a long way.
On another note, that must be one of the worst turn outs of away fans I've seen since we moved to the new stadium. How many did they bring with them, about 300?
They probably thought with the way the defense played against arsenal no point going up in all that rain to see them thrashed. In the end those that did turn up probably saw one of their most exciting games they've been to this season albeit a nail biting one. Credit Reading they didn't have a choice but to defend against us because if they opened up we may well have gone and thrashed them. Heard some bitter old city fan on 606 moaning that they deserved to lose if they came with that sort of game plan. Fact is they did have the occasional attack and but for a bit of accuracy their defender Pearce could've had a couple of goals. Possession and domination wise we deserved it but they will feel really unlucky no to come away with something.
