For claiming it wasn't awful?

Laughing out fucking loud at that!

There's no context anymore for some people. I know what an awful performance looks like, I've been watching City for over 20 years, that was not one.

Any game that you comprehensively dominate possession, produce 10 shots on target to their one and deservedly bag 3 points, cannot, by any logical mind be proclaimed to be an awful performance. Like I already said, hyperbole and exaggeration are off the charts again.

Now shove the specs up your arse (linked from the sun no less)

we were dire, the team selection was dire. ok not helped by reading timewasting etc or in fact a barmy ref but we have world beaters in our team and we were as flat as fuck.

we need fucking pace, not just in a player but in our mindset.

very lucky today.

Dire and lucky, hmmmm. I genuinely don't know where people get this negativity from. Please explain to me how we were lucky? We absolutely battered them in the first half, dropped a bit in the 2nd but the effort was still there and eventually got the goal we DESERVED.

Reading were lucky they only lost by 1. You saying we were lucky is basically saying we didn't deserve to win the game. Is that seriously what you think?

DIRE - where do you go from there when we actually play badly and lose a game? What are the levels below dire? I'm genuinely fascinated because to me it looks like a load of nonsense hyperbole and exaggeration.

PACE - when you're facing 9 defenders 30 yards from their own goal line pace is as much use as a chocolate fireguard. You need pace when there is space in behind the defence, of which there was none. Or when counter-attacking, and considering they barely had the ball in our half, the oppurtunities for that were extremely limited.

Mind numbing. Once more lacking any type of tempo and Mancini was pretty disrespectful to not only the opposition with the starting line-up, but also towards our own roster.

You don't need to earn £6m a year to see how flawed the decision was to pick both Barry and Garcia.

FFS, if there was one game Sinclair should have been given another chance from the off, it was this one.

Could not believe my eyes with ten minutes to go when we brought every player back for a Reading corner?

For me, the gears are there, but we keep slipping them.

on the fucking money

agree with daft to start 2 holders today but dont understand you saying it was disrespectful with starting line up but then saying we should of given Sinclair a start

How was it disrespectful?

Would have thought it a fairly straightforward selection.

Just in the respects, mate, two teenagers in defence and essentially a three man holding midfield, is not what Reading would have prepared for.

I'm sure it gave them an extra lift/relief when seeing team sheet.

As a blue, my initial reaction was one of disappointment, albeit, Nasty and Rekik can be very pleased with their performances.

just a point who did you want to play at left back

plus everyone has been saying give garcia game time
as for sinclair lol

Makes me laugh how the papers are playing up McDermott's outrage, Storey was static and not even moving for the ball, Barry just jumped over him as you see 100 times per game when a defender climbs above an attacker, etc. It's not nearly as controversial as the sour prick and the rag media are claiming, however these stories may get into referee's heads and could cost us in upcoming games.

Great to see such good performances from our two teenage defenders, especially Nasty once again making me feel very optimistic about our long future.
Great to come out of that with three points... but...

We are so fucking tedious and cumbersome it's depressing. Are the players forbidden to try a shot from outside the box? Is there a fixed number of passes which needs to be performed before attempting a hot on goal? Or else the player will be fined or something?

Look at Sinclair, who has all the speed a player could wish form, has the capacity to beat a man and get a shot on goal. What does ho do when he gets the ball on our own side, having the whole left side of the pitch open? He brings the ball forward a few yards, and then stop. Looking for a short pass. A little directness would be so sweet!

I will be forever grateful for what Mancini has brought to this club, but even if Reading had one of their best performances this season, we should NOT be reduced to feeling lucky coming out with a win against them at out own ground. We should have ripped them apart today. Really.

So I am glad for the win, but yet again very unhappy with the way we played. Individually there were no real poor performances, which there rarely is to be fair, but as a unit we do not look very impressive.
