Answer these for me:

Is it suitable for a 4 year old lad?

Would he be bored the fuck shitless?

3D or not?

Does he look 12 then ?
No, but that doesn't matter as it's a 12A, something i've already looked into.

Sounds like it might be a bit too long for him anyway, so fuck it.

Plus, a four year old wouldn't understand any of it, so it would be pointless.

He likes the old Batman films, the really shit one with Arnie in being his fave, but if I were to let him watch the Nolan Batman films, he'd probably hate it. I'm guessing it's the same with these Superman films then?

It is similar yes your probably right, at least wait until a good download pops up before buying the bluray for him.
It is far deeper than those crap 90's batman films.

Batman was far more involving and emotional i thought,it did not rely on CGI,making great use of 'old school' action scenes - a far superior film imo.

Superman is a film for the XBox brigade - loud bangs, ludicrous action and very little depth.

Neither are suitable for a child under 8 imo.

We wouldn't let him watch the Nolan Batman films.
Might wait till weekend then when he's at his dads, as I fancy this superman film. I fany World War Z too though

Go to superman before world war z mate.

I have a nose for flops and suprise hits usually.
World war z is going to be complete turd and i want it to be great.

The trailer alone fucks it a bit when it turns out basically little old brad has to stop his hols and save the world probably with a few skills not beyond anyone else to learn in a couple of days.
I want that film to win hard but i just can't see it.

Character wise they are very different with opposing philosophy's of light and shade, so a lot of the material evolves around that. However they both respect and value each others strengths. Think along the lines of a couple of brothers of opposite character who fundamentally love and respect each other but fight and bicker on the surface. Only to come together and kick the crap out of some knob head who besmirches the family name.

Tactically; obviously superman has the real superpowers because of that he can tend to tackle things head on sometimes without due thought. Batmans super powers are essentially his money and his sense of devotion and self discipline. He tends to be more tactical thinking things through to be one step ahead of the game. Again opposing philosophies which in the correct situation can compliment each other.

Thanks, but I struggle with how that does not make the entire audience just think that Superman could just do Batmans job with one arm tied round his back thus instantly making poor Batman irrelevant.
DC comics, fans and hollywood all think you are wrong in the light of such overwhelming opposition I think you lose

Really don't think its a case of me "losing" lol, I just can't understand why anyone wouldn't think it was laughably one sided.

You may as well team Superman up with a policeman!

Edit: policeman with a special car.

That is a brilliant word, you deserve a medal for that sir.

You are probably right also, it looks hmm 'awkward'.
Never knew it had such a budget, 100mil and it still would have been on shaky ground imo.

The Lone Ranger looks awful, however,Pacific Rim looks like it will take the turkey award imo.

I'm not sure where the next blockbuster is coming from tbh?

Stephen king adaptations have been a bit hit and miss for me so,yeah,Carrie should be interesting.....

I wouldnt mind a big budget remake of one of my favourites,Salems Lot.

Not a blockbuster, but i'm looking forward to seeing how they remake Carrie.

Carrie does look good, you seen the teaser trailer? Not sure if the full trailer is out yet?

The original was brilliant if only for the opening girls locker room scene!

My Grandad's favourite! If I remember rightly there's a bit in a prison cell when a vampire jumps out that scared the shit out of me when I was younger

The first Carrie was one of the best, as was Christine, (something I hope they never remake). It has that youngster in out of Kick Ass, and i've not seen her in a bad film yet, (watched Texas Killing fields yesterday with her in, and what a film that is), so it should be good if it sticks to her form so far.

I have a feeling that when they've ran out of films to remake, someone will come up with the idea of mauling Close Encounters, and remake that. That is when I stop watching films.

Salem's Lot and Carrie are classics for me.agree the new Carrie looks good.
As for Stephen King remakes.Pet Sematary,IT and Christine are all in devolepment. On a side note bought these 2 blu-rays recently.
