I don't name drop as a rule.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Mike Ingall in person on a couple of occasions during his Spinningfields and St John's/Enterprise City presentations to a group of SSC-MCR forum members. He's a really nice guy. As well as a very good property developer for Manchester. Spinningfields, LRFS, St John's/Enterprise City, etc.

Really enjoyed seeing WPP’s newly completed northern campus. We started this deal back in 2018 and is the second on the run following 1 Hardman St!

The blank wall is (supposed to be) a video screen. Not been down to there for a while, so I don't know if it is operational or not.

Ooohhh how fancy, led lighting throughout......wait a minute ..... led lighting is in pretty much every building in the country at this stage.
And a raised floor, wowser!!
No doubt there will be signs outside claiming all waste products from construction has been recycled, lost count of how many sites I've been on where they come out with this bullshit, it all ends up in the same skip day in day out.

It's just marketing guff. Every new office block and new residential tower has it.

Interesting.

The site could certainly accommodate at least one tower, maybe two towers. The site of the Dacia showroom, Trinity Way.

We love these photos of the relief model of our Renaissance site by Jon Matthews Architects

Giving a sneak peak of One Cathedral Square, this meticulously crafted model explores the geometric texture of the façade and its relationship to the street.

We’re so excited about our Renaissance development which is coming soon to one of Manchester's premier locations on Deansgate. It will be home to a luxury 300-apartment residential building, 50,000 sq ft of Grade A offices, 10,000 sq ft of retail and leisure connected public realm as well as the 4* plus Treehouse Hotels.

We can’t wait for you to see these remarkable designs evolve into reality soon. Stay tuned for more insights and updates from this monumental project!

Ironically in that building there is no lighting on the floors barring 3 emergencies.

I mentioned the car park opposite First Street recently that could accommodate a tower. Probably nothing more than a concept and/or an addition to the massing model.

Jon Matthews Architects.

The First Street Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) is a comprehensive masterplan which sets out the development potential of First Street Manchester and the ribbon of sites addressing the opposite side of Medlock Street. A key aspect of the SRF is how the masterplan can deliver sustainable economic growth whilst reconnecting First Street and Medlock Street to its surrounding context of River street, Oxford Road, Hulme, The University corridor and the City Centre.

A critical ambition of the Framework for First Street is the delivery of high quality, coordinated public realm spaces, linkages and connections to support improved accessibility to, and through the First Street neighbourhood for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. It highlights the importance of the public realm and connectivity to and across the area to creating a sense of place for the neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood now incorporates commercial office space, new homes, student facilities, theatres, cinemas and green infrastructure.

Jon Matthews Architects are the masterplanners for the SRF and Architects for the buildings No. 9 and 10 First Street, One City Road, One Medlock Street, 10-12 Whitworth Street and Axis within the masterplan. This represents over 2.2 million ft² of mixed use buildings either completed or with a detailed planning consent.

Just in case anyone doesn't know about the proposed Renaissance residential tower proposal. More CGI's, model pictures, and info via link.
